Nantwich Town v. Witton Albion

Four games to go, the first of which takes Witton to Nantwich Town on Easter Monday.

Friday’s defeat to in-form Stalybridge Celtic was a disappointment, although the second half performance was an improvement on the first and Ben Harrison and the team will be looking to pick up where they left off.

The Dabbers go into the game two places above the Albion in ninth with a three point advantage and a game in hand.

Their form has been decent with three wins, three draws and two defeats from their last eight games so will be a tough test for Witton.

The reverse fixture earlier in the season saw Albion comfortable 4-1 winners at the U Lock It Stadium, scoring three goals in a sixteen minute spell after Alex Panter had equalised for the Dabbers.

Goals from Tom Hoyle, Alfie Bairstow, Joe Edwards and Freddy Garbutt secured the points in Witton’s favour.

There are likely to be a number of players on show who have connections to both clubs so that will add to the occasion.

Former Albion players James Baillie and Callum Saunders could be part of the Dabbers squad whilst Witton manager Ben Harrison, goalkeeper Cameron Terry and midfielder James Lawrie have worn the colours of both clubs.

Witton’s away form has been decent lately with three successive wins on the road whilst Nantwich are unbeaten at home in the league since losing to Atherton Collieries in February.

Should hopefully be a decent game but Witton will have to perform at their best to get the right result.

Kick off at the Swansway Stadium is 3pm.
