Nantwich Town vs Witton Albion

Bank Holiday means invariably that it’s “Derby Day” and Witton make the trip to Nantwich Town in a Northern Premier League fixture. Both teams had an enforced break at the weekend due to their prospective opponents being involved in the Emirates FA Challenge Cup. The new-look Albion side have begun the season well, taking four points from their first two games whilst The Dabbers currently sit fifth in the league going into the game. Witton can take confidence from their visit to The Weaver Stadium last season as they completed the league double over their neighbours so will be looking to keep thar impressive run going. A few familiar faces will be on show amongst the Nantwich personnel in goalkeeper Greg Hall as well as defenders Matty Devine & Ben Harrison, who rejoined the club after a loan spell back at Wincham Park, following his release from Altrincham. It was hoped that he may return to Witton but it wasn’t to be and so we move on. Witton’s team have shown with the signings they have made that they can compete with the rest although the loss of skipper Rob Hopley is a huge blow but the lads carry on and galvanise their efforts towards getting three points from another tough fixture. Kick off at The Weaver Stadium is 3pm.
