Nantwich

Good performance today to get back to winning ways. Wouldn’t say it was a world class performance but they were committed and deserved the win. Thought Hanks was MOM, but all the lads deserve some credit for pulling us out of the losing run.

Moyo looks decent for the most part and could end up being a great solution to the LB problem. Kyle Wilson never stops running either, and not surprised he continues to start. Hopefully he gets himself into a few shooting positions because his finishing in pre season was pretty good.

Only complaint is that after their keeper got sent off and they replaced him with an outfield player, it took us about 15 minutes to even have a shot at him, when we could have tested him earlier. That said, you could argue that we continued to play our normal game of trying to fashion a chance so only a minor complaint.

Good to be back to winning ways anyway  Roll on Kings Lynn.

A good win. One match one win for me. Don’t know what all the fuss has been about. There isn’t much wrong with this team. A couple more to come back and we will be fine. We relaxed after the second goal. Losing, like winning, can be a habit so a very god job today.

Had to work today so I missed the game. Kept an eye on events though and was very relieved at full time.
Our first win and a clean sheet to boot.
Kings Lynn will be a tough game but at least we can go into it with some confidence. UTA

Great to get the first win and the clean sheet is a real credit to management and players for the work they’ve put in. In truth we limited them to very little and we looked solid at the back. A great performance to build on.

good performance to get the win. we played for the full 90 minutes today instead of 60, thinking we had the game won as in previous games. moyo looks to be an excellent signing, he seems to have a touch of class about him. can’t wait for kings lynn, now that we are getting it together we are mor e tha n capable of another 3 points to push us up the league to a position where we belong.well done to pritch and the boys.

3 hours ahead here and limited internet access so was relieved to get up this morning, get to work, check the result and see that we had won. Tremendous. Also nice to see that one version of the shit lost (although I am so not bothered by that bunch that it doesn’t even bother me that much any more when my little lad wears a green shirt…).

Love to all and greetings from the Abu Dhabi branch of the Supporters Club!

What a relief.
Well done boys.
Now we’ve given everyone a headstart we can begin moving up the league.

Great to see that the spirit is still so good going into games after a bad run, it’s a tribute to all at the club. We never looked like losing, although it went a bit flat in the 2nd half. However, it was pretty humid out there and ultimately we controlled the game. I still think that most fans who pay good money would like to see us going for more goals in the 90th minute rather than this annoying ‘run it into the corner’ mentality. Goal difference matters, and I’d have been happier with 3-0 - who wouldn’t ??

The new lads down the left have done really well and I think the left back problem is solved. All in all a fine day out in Sunny Nantwich, home of the slowest changing traffic lights in Christendom…

What was the team? Any major changes?
WHS.

Staggering!!!

I’ll still post the team on here anyway, will give me something to do. I couldn’t update the forum during the game as I couldn’t get on the website.

Witton team:

Matt Cooper, Anthony Gardner, Cliff Moyo, Ben Harrison, Marc Joseph, Olly James, Josh Hancock, Nicky Platt, Kyle Wilson, Jon Dawson, Danny Andrews.

Subs: Steve Foster, Ryan Grocott, Matty Purcell, Michael Moseley, Stuart Plant.

A good hard fought win and after our start i would take that, Nantwich were pretty poor we were a bit better and clearly deserved all 3 points and now we have 3 good players avaialable for selection again for saturday so the the team can step up again maybe ? if pritch thinks he should change it - I would personally but as long as we keep improving and pick up 3 more points I will be happy.

Team whs was

coops, gards, mayo, ben, joseph, olly, platt, dawson, andrews, wilson, hancock, fossie came on for last 25 minutes no other major changes of note, not as many witton fams there as expected ! bad start maybe

Who are the 3 players available for selection?

Sheehan, Powell & Tuck i thought plus maybe Thompson who is still injured ?

So 4 then? To include them all where would you put them?

Errrm well in Sheehs and Powells case they could be considered in the positions they played last season perhaps?

God forbid that the forum be used for personal opinions CS!

Good win at Nantwich and nice to get the first 3 points of the season.

If sheens and Powell are fit I would put them in for platt and Dawson. With Hancock moving back to the left wing. All depends on the lass fitness and if anyone has a niggle. Just my opinion of course.

Think Kyle has done enough to merit another start on Saturday, and linked really well with Sheenz against Barrow when Sheenz played in behind him. Not sure if he’s available for Saturday or would be fit to start but i’d like to see that combo given another run out at some point.
