News that Witton Albion Football Club are set to announce a new signing this evening.
A big signing by all accounts but no further details are available at the present time.
On X says new signing has made 230 premier league appearances!
Witton Albion Football Club are pleased to announce the signing of former Burnley & Aston Villa full back Matt Lowton.
The 34 year old began his career at Sheffield United and progressed through their Youth System before breaking into the first team.
He was has made more than 230 appearances in the Premier League and also had a spell in the Championship with Huddersfield Town.
Obviously a quality signing!
I personally I thought we needed either a strong midfielder or a striker, but the Mgr has to get it right for his plan so look forward to seeing the effect it has on the team and performance.
We may see 4 4 2 or 5 3 2, certainly adds flexibility. UTA
While he was a full back at the highest level, I imagine with his pedigree, he is well capable of playing midfield in our league. Be interesting to see.
