Yes it is true. The confirmation that I have been waiting for, came through at 09:32 this morning, in time for him to be eligible for selection today against Eastwood Town.
He came through the ranks at Leigh RMI, and was captain last season. He moved to Skelmersdale United during the summer, but was hampered by injury. He trained with us on Thursday night.
He can play in the centre of defence, at left back or in midfield.
With regards ex Leigh Genesis players, yesterday I had a letter from Mary Croasdale, their Football Secretary, informing us that nearly their entire squad has been transfer listed (I expect it is all those the can no longer afford to pay?). I hope they survive, but it is going to be a very hard battle. It’s bad enough trying to create a brand new team, with no money, in close season, never mind in the middle of the season!
can we not take advantage and nick a player or 2 of them before the stampede? They had a couple of decent players.

As soon as the news of Leigh Genesis broke earlier this week, our management team swung into action. Obviously, some sort of rescue package had to be thrashed out between Leigh Genesis with the Unibond League, before any official moves could be made. The announcement yesterday of the players availability was the next stage. To be honest, I think all Unibond and Conference teams will be on red alert, and as usual, it will be money that speaks the loudest.
However, nothing will happen until after Leigh’s game today, as all their players have agreed to play today for no money!
Fair play to the Leigh players for that.
In regards to us signing them, if there wages are as high as i understand them to be then i can’t see us being able to afford any of their better players at the moment.
