New Signing

According hednesford fan we’ve signed Aaron Rey from them.

Utter rubbish we have not

Taken from Hednesford website:

After discussions between management and player, we have today cancelled Aaron Rey’s registration for the club in order that he can take up a playing offer elsewhere. We have received a formal contact notice from Witton Albion FC and Rob Smith has waived any requirement for seven days notice so that there is no obstacle to the player reaching an agreement with another club if offered terms.

We would like to thank Aaron for his contribution to the successes of last season and wish him well for the future.

Saw that yesterday as well doesnt come across as utter rubbish does it. .? Seems like a genuine link of course he may not be signed yet but would be useful addition if it comes off.

Here we are again with other clubs announcing things which in my personal opinion is unprofessional.

I can categorically state that Aaron Rey has NOT signed for us. As I have said before any signings will not be announced by the club until every i is dotted and every t is crossed. When this is done any signings will be announced via our media outlets (usually Simmo), twitter and on the club website.

Well said Jamie. As said before, releasing clubs making announcements only alerts other clubs to a players availability. It takes at least 48 hours to get a players registration all verified, and any publication in the meantime only alerts other clubs to offer better terms.

Please don’t make any observations (on twitter, facebook or forum) about new signings until official announcements have been made by the club

What about when it is listed on the Evostik website?

Some people need to realise there is a bigger picture. In this instance the former club have waived the 7 days but have taken to social media to announce the release. This alerted other clubs to the players availability which nearly scuppered the move. Hednesford and Witton Albion fans, by their social media chatter almost lost us what in my opinion is an excellent addition to the squad.

The deal was finally completed late last night, subject to FA and League registration and the player is available today.

It will always be the policy of the club not to talk about the signing of players until every eventually is sorted. It is also the policy of this club not to discuss where players may move on to. I feel this is the right way of handling this situation as deals have been known to collapse in the past. It is the professional approach to this issue and one that is right and proper.

We have many outlets for the announcement of club news, including the website, twitter and the local newspaper.

Club Shop wrote 'Utter rubbish…"

He was not wrong.

GE

a fine way to welcome a new player.no wonder we cant attract decent players with comments like that. :red

It’s a forum - get over it.

easy to say it on here but if he’s that bad go and tell pritch what a crap signing he is
.veryangry

I think GE was tongue in cheek following the club shop theme, not a great debut to be honest but I guess he isn’t match fit being on the bench for hednesford so happy to give him time to get fit and settle. UTA

Quote from Andy Simpsons twitter feed…

Third, Aaron Rey is a shrewd addition in attack. He will allow @wittonalbionfc to play again beyond opposing defences instead of in front.

Hope Simmo is right on this one and todays lifeless debut is down to lack of match fitness
and not lack of ability…

to be honest i thought he started brightly enough but he did fade as the game went on, maybe down to lack of match fitness.
