He is not a youth loan!
He is 18 years old we need an experienced centre back and one who can settle in to the team and make the position his own. We do not need more loan players. Sorry but that’s my opinion.
Experienced players very rarely become available at this time of the season. Teams are usually managing to meet their budgets up to now, due to the fact they have been playing 2 times per week, and as such, they have had 4 home games gates per month to help meet the wage bill. The only players that come available are the ones that arn’t good enough.
It’s usually January before the budgets start to bite, when you are on average only playing 2 home games per month. This is the time when good experienced players become available as other clubs realise they are struggling to meet the wages each week.
As such, to replace the 22 players who have left the club this season, is impossible to do without approaching teams like Southport, Port Vale, Tranmere, Stockport County, Chester and Liverpool, to ask to take players on loan from them.
I am sure Carl and Gary will look to replace these loan players as and when more senior players come available in the New Year.
I understand that Jeff it is just very frustrating after seeing Scott Dundas waste away a healthy budget. I do not underestimate the job that Carl has on his hands and can only hope it works out for him as we cannot afford any further management changes.
If games continue to get postponed the loan players will be back at their parent clubs without having kicked a ball for us.
What would we gain from that?
Not all loan signings are just for 1 month.
