I have been working on a new club website that links in with the Evo-Stik League website. The website is now live although there are still things to be done to it. I was asked by Mark sometime ago if I would be prepared to undertake this venture and although there have been difficulties in setting things up, it is now in a postion that it can be viewed and accessed. The details for the website are: www.pitchero.com/clubs/wittonalbion/
Nice one Wheels, but I cannot see the logic in having “another” web site. The official website is already reachable from the Evo-Stik League website. I just think we’re duplicating effort. Let’s get the official site up to date more often.
It is really good of Wheels to take the time to do this however I do have a couple of observations. This is in no way meant to take anything away from the work gone into the website though.
Firstly I personally hate the Pitchero websites. Lots of clubs in this division use them. They are hard to navigate around, not kept up to date and full of adverts. I think Witton stand out from the crowd by having their own website.
Secondly the stats page is awful. It just gives other managers the chance to go on the internet and find free research about the team.
I’d like to see the official website kept up to date more as it is a cracking site but a lot of it is out of date (some from 2 seasons ago). Who looks after the official website?
Hi Rabbit,
I agree with what you have said, except that I thought it was you that kept it up-to-date?
Obviously not, or obviously no longer.
I have limited access to keep the News Falashes, Fixtures, Match Reports and Match Previews up-to-date. That said, I do suffer from a lack of knowledge as to how to improve them by inserting photos, enhancing formats etc.
I am willing to learn, if anybody has the time to teach me, but to be honest, we could do with somebody far more experienced than me (and with the time to do it) to take overall charge of administration of the official site, especially with the link-up with Twitter and Facebook.
Think your thinking of the wrong rabbit
Is there a magician around here somewhere? Too many rabbits being pulled out of the hat. Sorry Jamie, I thought you were Simon.
Absolutely 100% agree.
