A decent performance in heat more suited to cricket than football.
In the end a fair result, with us shading the first half (no pun intended) and them coming into it more in the second half. Thought we did well not to fold when they equalised and in fact we had a couple of chances to get a winner.
The whole team put in a decent shift and never stopped trying to play football but my MOM would be Joe Duckworth who looked lively all afternoon, despite needing treatment for a couple of knocks in the second half (hope he is fit for Tuesday).
Probably need a bit more ‘beef’ in a couple of areas, but I’m sure the management and board are aware of this.
Sounds like a promising start, especially away from home and in the heat.
With barely any pre-season games to gel a new squad together, I think there are genuine reasons for optimism. We may need to be patient initially…
