Jon Kennedy wins safe hands award

Jon Kennedy has won the inaugural UniBond League ‘Safe-Hands’ award for August/September only letting 3 League goals pass him in that time.

Four Witton players (Jon Kennedy, Rob Lloyd, Mark Peers and Adam Warlow) have been chosen by the FA to represent them in a fixture on Tuesday 23 October (7.45pm) at The Bright Finance Stadium, Dronfield, Sheffield to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of Sheffield FC.

The opponents are Sheffield FC.

Also Liam Brownhill & Cavell Coo are named in the Contingency squad for this game.

It is hoped Witton Albion FC supporters will consider organising a mini-bus to go to Sheffield to support the lads.

Great recognition for the club, well done to the players and coaching staff

Just seen the full anouncement, not a bad first prize at the end of the season!

Goalkeeping trio Jon Kennedy of Witton Albion, Bamber Bridge’s Terry McCormick and Nantwich Town’s Rob Hackney are the first recipients of the UniBond League’s new monthly “Safe Hands” awards sponsored by Macron who supply kit and training gear to over half of the League’s member clubs.
The combined August / September winners will each receive a pair of top of the range goalkeeping gloves courtesy of Macron, the League’s preferred kit supplier. But ‘keepers around the League will be looking at capturing the seasonal prize for the goalkeeper with the best record over all three Divisions as whoever wins it will enjoy a week, all expenses paid, next pre-season with an Italian La Liga club sponsored by Macron. The overall season winner must be with a UniBond League on the last day of the season and must have been registered for at least three months. The monthly prizes, however, will be based on the number of clean sheets kept by a goalkeeper with only league games taken in to account with goals against taken in to account in the event of a tie. The monthly prize can only be won once by any one goalkeeper in the season.

shame la liga is in spain and its actually serie a the top league in italy maybe this needs some clearing up as to whether they atre going to italy or spain?
