Jim I think it’s highly commendable for you to come on here and post what you have. You don’t have to do it and I (and judging by the replies so far, countless others also) appreciate it. Just echoing what has already been said, let’s get behind the team and show Buxton and then hopefully Gateshead/Eastwood why we’ve only failed to win 3 games at home this season!

For me its quite simple your’e the best thing thats happened at Witton for fifty years. OK we can point to a team that won the championship in 1990 but that team was not built up like you’ve done. Most of it was bought from Colne Dynamoes. They were a great team but what all our fans have to consider is that you are doing everything on a very low budget. Well done to Fleetwood but I bet their budget is 3 times ours.So as long as you can look us in the eye and say you and the team did their best then thats all we can ask. I don’t want another manager at Witton we need you. Your’e not only an articulate intelligent guy but I like to think in the two years we’ve been having chats after the games that we’ve become firm friends too. OK should the unthinkable happen and we might not go up this season then I know we’ll be gutted but I know your not a quitter and you’ll come back stronger than ever for us next year and we’ll go up then if not now.
Ok some fans are obviously passionate that the players have let us down at the final hurdle but it is not the final hurdle as they have a chance to put this right in the next 2 games.
We can do this but whatever happens Jim, I and the rest of the fans want you at Wincham next season you can’t walk away we won’t let you and I can’t settle for someone else taking over and getting us to boring mid table, watching a boring team. The idea of you not being in charge be it Conf north or Unibond is really just too ridiculous for words. You’ll always get some negative comments from some fans but also if you look on here there are a hell of a lot of us right behind you. C’mon mate we can do this!!
Let me make it completely clear, I bemoan our luck, not our team. When we need luck to be on our side it invariably deserts us, this is not just this season but many seasons in the past too; remember the “Gleghorn years”? I do, and I remember others too, we lost a Cup Final because our centre half got sent off for tackling a streaker for God’s sake, when did that happen to any other club but Witton? I sincerely hope our luck ckanges this week, we are WELL overdue!!

well said jim as a PROUD witton supporter for almost 50 years i can truthfully say that the current team is one of the best football playing teams during that period.so jim get bthe players up for it and we will be winners come saturday night.come on the albion.
