Pritch has indicated that there are likely to be changes amongst the playing staff next season and that by the end of the summer, the squad might look quite different. Who would fans like to see staying at Wincham Park next season.
Gards, Harrison, Andrews, Powell, Sheehan, Hancock, Bakkor and Titch.
A fit Dave Walker alongside Titch would be good to see!
Garda josh Hancock Ben titch Andrews Bakker moyo we DESPERATLY need a keeper cooper has played some good games but he’s also lost us a few I think plant should have had a better chance but hey ho what do I know I,m sure pritch will do us proud next season
Yeah I think Woody just about got it right, I would like Gardner, Harrison, Andrews, Hancock, Sheehan, Powell, Bakkor, Walker, Dawson (I think he is a perfect squad player always gives 100%)
For me IMO Titch would cost to much to keep and where would we cut our cloth to afford him? No doubting his ability but would this mean the team
having to accommodate second rate players to cover costs?
I know Cooper has been shall we say out of sorts this season, but to be fair to him the back for four hasn’t helped him, we haven’t had a left back all season,
but like has been mentioned above ‘what do we know’
In Pritch We Trust
How did I forget a fit Dave Walker?! Coops is great on 1 on 1’s and he’s a good shot stopper, but his kicking and decision making cost us goals. Moyo is injury prone and his distribution let’s him down. Dawson puts the effort in but would like someone with a bit more end product.
I heard that Powell has already been released hence he wasnt in the squad yesterday
Just seen this, could be a few ideas we could use for fundraising
Despite our troubled season, the squad is still full of quality. If Titch stays we have to have a more physical player alongside him to win high balls and clearances and hold the play up till support arrives. I hope this is Dave Walker, he’s a really clever player. If Titch goes then a no 9 who can occasionally score a goal from a header would be nice. How many times do we score from corners?
If the tooth fairy brings in some funds i would love to see a midfielder with real pace, and of course, we do need a reliable left back. Agree with fans comments about Coops - great on saves, but makes crazy decisions and got more inconsistent as the season progressed. Stuart Plant should have been given a chance on more occasions.
Since the end of Feb, we’ve done pretty well, despite some horrible results. If we get a good pre-season and some additions, I’m reasonably confident of real improvement next season.
We are interviewing Pritch on Wednesday night for the end of season podcast so if you have any thoughts, views or questions you would like us to put to him about the retained players or anything else at all then we will gladly ask.
Let us know on here or on twitter @WAFCpodcast
On the subject if fundraising, anything the fans can do to help is greatly appreciated and much needed. We need to give the management team the funds to be able to go out and strengthen this squad and make us a real force in this division. We’ve beaten a lot of the ‘top teams’ in this league so we can do it. Just need to be able to attract the quality to put the icing on the cake. That costs!
All the fundraising ideas are good but we need volunteers to help make them a reality. Sadly the pool of those doing things is growing smaller and we need more people to help out the already overworked band of volunteers. So if you can help, or have an idea that you want to take forward that will raise some funds, please contact the club. If we just keep leaving it to those who do it already its unlikely to happen as these people are already working at capacity.
I honestly don’t think the criticism of our keeper is fair, he is a damn good keeper for this level, you don’t see many better in other teams in my opinion. As for who to keep and who to let go, some may want to go that we want to keep and I don’t just mean Titch. I am happy to leave it to Mr. Pritchard and if he gets it wrong, well he will be the one to blame, if he gets it right we will all be happy, SIMPLES!
WHS.
let’s just leave it to pritch(mr. witton) he will know who he wants and who wants to stay. he will already have in mind who he wants to come to the club and will do his utmost to see his thoughts come to reality. so good luck to pritch in this quest and thanks for your efforts this season. i for one want to see you and your management team here at witton for years to come. once again thanks pritch and may good foetune come your way.
Totally agree with that. My posting was just a general discussion to get the feelings of the fans and as we all know, football is all about opinions. Yes, the management are there to make those decisions and we willl support whoever wears those red & white stripes.
Certainly something which Pritch will be discussing on the Podcast this week!
Will be interesting to get his thoughts on who he would like to retain for next season.
As long as Witton retain the likes of you and Sam, Peter Robinson and is “crew”, Mark Harris and his wonderful board and Mr. Pritchard and all his assistants, not forgetting “Doc” and all the others who give their time and effort to the club I for one will be completely happy, players tend to come and go but people like the ones I have mentioned only leave in a wooden box!!!
