Nigel Deeley's Red n White Army!!!

Enough doom and gloom, and talk of players leaving…

We have a real Wittoner managing our Club, this is something to be very proud of.

We have the most loyal number 4 the footballing world has ever seen!! (And he happens to be quite good too!!).

We have the tremendous spirit that has built up on the terraces over the last 2 years.

This Club is still going places. We may have to have a step back this season to consolidate, but the future is still very bright.

We just have to keep the fundraising going. We have to have faith in Nigel, Milly, Mark Harris, and whoever else comes in to help out. We have Andy Chad, Neil WIlson, and Si Westland now providing the fans with closer ties to the board.

We have alot of things that many other Clubs would love ot have.

Ontop of this, there is still the possibility of moving to a purpose-built stadium in a few years time. That would be another very exciting chapter in the history of WAFC.

Keep pledging, keep supporting the fundraising initiatives, keep coming up with idea. Give your time if you can’t give your money. Keep supporting Nige, and support the team that lines up in our shirt on the opening day of the season - but most importantly KEEP THE FAITH.

RED ARMY!!!

Yep well done Robbo. I like Nige a lot know him for years but when I post on here about him needing practical help I’m doing it for his sake as 6 months down the line we don’t want to lose him because he’s stressed out!! I think the ground move side of things really does need to be given higher urgency in the run of things now. This would be a great project for Mike worthington to run with once he feels refreshed and ready to go. I think Mike is a bigger loss to the club than any player or manager and I still live in hope that he’s going to reamin involved in the club.
As for our number 4 see my post elsewhere. I can’t tell you how proud and privilaged that we have had him at the club and hopefully still will be for many years to come. Pity his police duties are so exacting because this guy would also be a brilliant manager if he had the time to devote to it in between catching thieves, playing and painting dressing rooms!! Says it all really ROLE MODEL not just as a footballer but as a man!!

Well said Young Robbo there’s too much gloom and doom going on and not enough PLEDGING.

Players come and go - nothing new there - I remember when I was a lad Stan Smith ( my hero ) went from Witton to Macclesfield for an extra £1 a week - I cried and never ate for a week.

If u cast your minds back to last years pre-season meeting JV said " Don’t forget players play for money " but he missed the " greedy bstads " bit out thou.

Nigel will do alright for us if we " keep the faith ".

Let’s have some more PLEDGERS and give Nigel some back up.

Zigga Zagga - Albion !

PS. Even MONA seems a bit happier.:frowning:

Eli mate I am trying to be positive through all this mess. But I’m also going through a bad patch personally at the moment. I think we all need a real lift and any kind of signing by us for a change might lift the gloom here’s hoping.

Keep the faith Mona - we will survive;)

Players and managers come and go as they sway like trees against a wind.Even the chairmen come and go.In my short spell of 16 years as a one eyed Wittoner 4 chairmen, or 5 if you count Tom Shaw have come and gone not to count a string of managers and God knows how many tens even hundreds of players [Perhaps the grand stato Chad would enlighten us].Witton is still here and so are us fans and supporters.God willing we shall all be together for a whole lot longer.Remember mid 90’s and the receivers??
Hey,chin up and watch the rise of phoenix. As Bob marley said,“Every thing’s gonna be alright”.:cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

RED ARMY ! RED ARMY !! COME ON WITTON !!!:cheer:

Myself and Drew went down to the ground last night to assist Pritch with a spot of painting (well Drew painted, and i made the brews…badly!!). Once again it struck me what a special Club we have here at Witton. To see Pritch and Mrs Pritch putting so much effort into painting the changing rooms and doors etc just makes you feel really humble. On top of that Nige was down there signing Paul Donnelly, and he brought him over to be introduced to us (well not to me as i was ragging Drew’s car to Tesco to get some milk and sweets!).

We have a real living legend in Pritch, the Club’s record appearance holder, and he still finds the time to spend his nights at WP doing menial tasks. Then you have Nige, who is Witton through and through and always has enough time to stop and speak to you - despite the fact that life must be pretty hectic for him right now!

But we also have people like Mike Mosely (Hi Mike, i know you’ll be reading this!!). A bloke who left the Club that he loves, but still found the time to come and play for the Supporters Team before he left. He still keeps in touch, and he hurt as much as we did when we failed to go up. Witton is a special Club that remains in the hearts of people like Mike.

Then i remember the charity game v the Vics fans at Christmas. About 17 of us bone fide Witton fans got to pull on that famous Red and White and raise £1500 for charity. Fellow Witton fans came down to support us, aswell as Nige, Pritch, Mose, etc etc. Another reason why it’s great to be a Witton fan. Apart from the scoreline that was one of the best footballing days of my life!

So we’ll have a new team to cheer on next season, with new songs to make up, and new player profiles for me to write in the program! New friends to make, and fresh memories to create. And the best part of it is that we, as supporters, play as much a part in the success of our Club as any player or official does. It’s been said before, and it may sound cliched, but Witton really is a unique place to be. We’ve been kicked in the teeth time and time again, but we keep on smiling. We keep on turning up with the same hopes and expectations each August, only for my Dad to be proved right once again in April as we crash and burn in glorious fashion!! Once again we’ll spend wet Tuesday nights at Frickley, and Matlock, and Buxton. We’ll have our annual stop-over in Whitby (providing the fixture list is kind to us!), and instead of trips to Lincoln, Leek, and Stamford, we’ll be going to Gigg Lane, Leigh Genesis, and Nantwich.

The truth is that we should be looking forward to life in the Blue Square North, and i’m still amazed that we aren’t. I think certain people owed it to the fans to have given it one last try. One bloke had the guts to take on that challenge though, and in Nige we must trust.

However, the Club is lacking one vital ingredient at the moment. GE, once again i urge you to reconsider. Like Nige and Pritch you are Witton through and through. We need people like you to represent the rest of us who don’t have the qualities that you do.

It’s going to be an interesting season, but with the many different characters we have cheering the team on from the terraces i see no reason why we can’t enjoy this season more than any other.

As always, ONWARDS AND UPWARDS!!!

Great post robbo!!

My Mrs cant get her head around the whole football camoradarie stuff,

maybe i should buy her a season ticket for our aniversary?

Well said that man

Robbo you are ledge. Bet you never thought I’d say that!!!

Grazzer, I was thinking the same about the future Mrs Green. Rest assured the little one will be at WP regularly as soon as he can say Witton!

Top post Robbo.

The countdown to August 16th is on, and like the start of last season we will be 100% behind the lads and Nige.

GE, read, read and read again!
