Nigel Gleghorn

Had a chat with Nige @ Moss Farm last week. He spoke fondly of his time @ Witton and said it was as good a footballing time as he had had in the Football League.

He wishes the Club well and wishes to be remembered to the supporters. A true gent, great footballer and a good manager.

GE

Yes he was popular here too, most people I think believe he was not given enough time to adjust to him not playing and rebuilding the team as a manager only, with his style he was a good fit for Witton and I think we would have done well to keep him around long term, but thats Chairmen for you ?

Agreed, did my level 2 with Nige, top bloke

agree whole heartedly, he did a good job for us but wasn’t around long enough. we played some good football under him. good luck to him.

True good footballing man.

Will always remember his ability to pass the ball into the net from 20 yrds or more on numerous occasions.

Nigel introduced some young talents to the club, least of all Danny Greystone.

I can remember Dannys first minute spectacular lob over Radcliffes goalkeeper in a promotion decider some years ago played infront of nearly seven hundred people.

Comforting to know Nigel still has a place in his heart for our great club.

Absolutely agree with the sentiments about Mr Gleghorn, true gent and a football man through and through. The Albs would have done well to have kept him. I could never understand why he was “let go”, we played some great football, discoverd some really good young talent, and the team all took a 50% cut they wanted to play for Nigel so much. So nice of him to remember the Albion so fondly and best wishes to him!
