NON LEAGUE DAY - SATURDAY, 10TH OCTOBER.

Non-League Day returns in October

Following the record-breaking event last year, Non-League Day will return for a sixth consecutive season on Saturday 10th October 2015.

With England playing on Saturday during the September international break, the October date provides a platform for clubs to promote the importance of volunteer-led community football, while empowering fans to show support for their local non-league side.

Once again, we are partnering with Prostate Cancer UK (PCUK) in an effort to raise funds for, and awareness of, an illness that affects thousands of men in Britain every year. This year, PCUK will be asking clubs and fans to ‘pledge their allegiance’ to non-league football and Men United. The pledge can be financial or promotional; from holding a bucket collection to tweeting photos of support.

Non-League Day will continue its annual link-up with Kick It Out, raising awareness of issues, promoting equality and challenging all aspects of discrimination at all levels of the game. This year, Bromsgrove Rovers, Salford City, Boreham Wood and Aldershot Town have been chosen as our showpiece promotional games.

Finally, for the first time, Scottish non-league clubs have been invited to take part. With a thriving semi-professional and amateur scene, playing in some of the most picturesque locations in Britain, this expansion will add a new and exciting dimension to the day

Once again we are away on non-league day. I am confident in saying that we have never had a home game on non-league day, which does bring in extra money. So why can’t the fixtures be arranged so that every club has a chance to cash in every other year?

Pretty sure we were at home a couple of years ago, can’t remember who we were playing but I do remember the players mingling together for a photo on the pitch just before kick off. Unless that was a different type of promotion/event, I’m not quite sure.

That may have been a families day, we always seem to be away for this although that’s largely down to (bad) luck. Disappointing as im sure we could put a bit of leg work into promoting it around town and getting a big crowd :frowning:
