Team news: Witton make two changes to the starting line-up following the excellent victory at AFC Fylde in midweek. Anthony Gardner & Ashley Stott return in place of Josh Glover and Shaun Tuck. Steve Foster begins his second spell at the club on the bench alongside Tuck & Mike Moseley. Jamie Harrison and Martin Ormesher are left out.
Matt Cooper, Anthony Gardner, Matty Wood, Ben Harrison, Paul Booth, Anthony Sheehan, Josh Hancock, Rory Fallon, Ashley Stott, Matt Cross, Danny Andrews.
Subs: Shaun Tuck, Adam Clayton, Steve Foster, Mike Moseley, Josh Glover.
A perfectly good goal by Foster given offside by the linesman (couldn’t be called assistant ref under any circumstances :red ) Foster also hit the woodwork twice.
Having said that if Ferriby had been ahead by 5 at half time we couldn’t have complained.
Keep the faith.
Didn’t turn up for the 1st 30 minutes and then we were 2 down, can’t fault the effort the players gave in the 2nd half could have been 2-2 but in fairness we just weren’t at the races today and lacked abit of bite in the middle of the park, but Tuesday is another day and another big game. Thought Foster was the stand out performer 2nd half when he came looks a great addition to the squad, but where was Shaun Tuck?
Feel this game was lost before we started. Why drop Josh Glover who saw off a centre forward at Fylde on Tuesday who has played in the Conference North not so long ago for FC Halfix? Also thought Boothy did well for us at right back and gave us a more solid look. I appreciate you might not want to play this every game but at Fylde we played really well I would have kept the same format with Stotty coming in for Tuck who did’nt seem to be around on Saturday.
Having said that and I must stress its just my opinion and in the 2nd half we could easily have got a draw. Steve Foster coming on up front really caused them some problems and he was very unlucky not to score and did score a perfectly good goal dissallowed for offside. This was a mystery to Ferriby fans as well that were stood near me.
I think getting Fozzy back on loan is good business. The manager will have to make a decision at the end of his loan period because if we do sign Fozzy then one of the other stikers will have to go to balance the books presumeably!! I trust our management team to keep us up which is the main thing, but I guess our asparations this season might be a bit too much to get in the play offs.
We need to keep going as we are. If you’d have said at the start of the season we’d be where we are now then we’d have taken it. Ok might sound like I’m having a go by saying I wouldn’t have changed the team form Tuesday but I stress this is only my opinion. I trust Pritch and Co to get things right and maybe this season is all about consolidation and fine tuning and a learning curve at a higher level.
ONWARD and UPWARD with our great club!!
We are all managers at heart thats part of the bug I might have a view on here but its never meant as criticism of Pritch, he is THE manager and after all he is training with them knows injury and fitnerss aspects that we are guessing at and he will have nuances to his team and style that only he will know and share with the players, of course we would be top if I was manager
Any news on why Tuck was missing ? I hope only a 1 game issue
