North Ferriby United.

Very sad news indeed that North Ferriby United have been wound up in a hearing at Hull County Court earlier today after 85 years of business. The club will not be fulfilling their remaining fixtures and will be placed in the hands of liquidators.

Does that mean we lose 6 points and 5 goals???

I would expect so although this still has to be confirmed, every club in the league will be affected. It could have interesting consequences for the title and play offs particularly.

You’re all heart Ed!

Sad news. It’s always a shame when a club goes under.

Does this mean we get 5 goals money back?? - (only joking Steve C)

when Spennymoor folded didn’t they give everyone 3 points for remaining games?

Sad news indeed and I do hope the NFU supporters resurrect the club . The club folds for a small debt of £7645.25 .

Can’t think that was all they owed. I suspect that was just the debt that went to court and is the tip of a rather large debt pile.

That said, it really is sad. A lovely club no more.

League Rule 12.9
A club which for any reason ceases to operate at any time during the Playing Season may have its playing record expunged, and any monies due to them from the Company shall be forfeited. From the date of the withdrawal no further payment shall become due to them. From the date of the withdrawal that Club shall cease to be a member of the Company.

The NPL had to await formal notification of the liquidation before it could confirm its position.

Member clubs were updated on the situation at the Chairman’s meeting on Sunday.

The Premier Division league table will be updated to reflect the changes at the closest opportunity

Hi Jeff - are you able to say why they didn’t follow this rule for Spennymoor when they went bump ? I’m just interested as to why the league didn’t follow the rules then?

Following North Ferriby United’s liquidation, the Evo-Stik Premier Division table has now been updated and their record expunged. As a result, Witton now drop to tenth on 46 points.

Sorry, I don’t know. Maybe one to ask Mark?

The rule says MAY have their playing record expunged which gives them some discretion. This does seem a fairer way of doing it than awarding clubs three points for games they haven’t played.

Was the rule in place at the time they went bust, or has it been added since?

The updated table is on the Evo-Stik League Website and North Ferriby United’s record has indeed been expunged.
