The Northern Premier League Season for 2021/22 is scheduled to start on SATURDAY, 14th AUGUST. The scheduled end of the season is the end of April 2022 with the Play Offs scheduled to be played over the May Bank Holiday weekend.
There is also provision to extend the season should it be necessary.
Hopefully the club can keep the majority of the squad together & build on last seasons efforts, but I’m guessing it now boils down to finances.
Would be good to keep the better players and add a few of quality to push for a promotion bid, but whatever it brings it just cannot come soon enough UTA
Unusually, the early season North West Counties League fixtures are out already (Northern Premier League fixtures aren’t expected to be announced for another fortnight yet) and sees tenants Northwich Victoria at home on Saturday 14th August 2021 (v Longridge), Saturday 28th August 2021 (v Padiham) and Bank Holiday Monday 30th August 2021 (v Wythenshawe Town).
So, does that mean that the Albion will definitely be away on each of these dates, including the opening Saturday of the NPL season as well as the potentially lucrative BH weekend, or that the tenants will have to reschedule if there are any fixture clashes?
I think the main issue here is that the North West Counties League season kicks off two weeks before our campaign - 31st July. I would’ve thought that where fixtures clash then a re scheduling would take place and from past experience my understanding is that the club where a groundshare agreement is in place, would have priority.
Another issue as stated on other platforms is that the Northern Premier League have had to allow time for clubs to appeal regarding the restructuring of the system so, the fixtures won’t be released until mid-July once relevant appeals have been heard.
