Yeah great crack but to get all the kids in as well as the beer monsters, bus needs to do the outlying areas - Hartford, davenham, moulton, great bud worth ,Barton etcAnd pick up at local schools as well as the pubs ! (tho pubs get preference of course)

Think it comes down to cost and don’t think you would get enough people to make it viable to go to outlying areas. Think memorial hall and penny black would be better pick up points.

Don’t forget there are supporters who come from outlandish places as America, Birmingham, Sheffield, Macclesfield and Dario land!!! sbl

Its a good point WM it doesnt look good when pictures of games show empty terraces. Will mention it to Simmo n see if consideration to the background can be given when publishing WP pictures.

Re bus when we first moved up to Wincham there was a bus service which petered out because of lack of use.

Im a bit merry after United secured 3 valuable points in ‘just another game’, but might it be worth us speaking to Dobsons and seeing if they can pick up outside Spoons at say 2.15? Perhaps not every week but with some organising we might be able to get a few in Spoons from lunch and take the atmosphere to the terrace on occasion.

Some great ideas, but some have been tried before. The idea of the bus was used in the early 1990’s, when we moved to Wincham. From what I remember, the club paid for the hire of the bus, and the fare was free. After a couple of months into the 1991 to 1992 season, a Director was tasked with monitoring the number of people using the bus on match days (I think this was Eddie Phillips). He reported back that only 2 people used the bus, and this was when our average attendance was 950 per match!!!. As such, the bus was cancelled to save wasted money.

With regards the use of Dobsons Buses, I don’t think he has any left. I think he has sold them all, as he takes up retirement.

How much would it cost for the bus? Just wondered…

Massive well done to anyone that spoke to the Guardian re photos at WP recently. Fantastic shot on the back page this week with some of the Witton faithful in the background :clap

Expecting to see a gate touching 3 figures on saturday now :clap

Yeah it looks like there’s people actually there now!
