Just catching up on a few posts after returning from holiday and noticed an aire of negativity creeping into one or two peeps thoughts. By any stretch of the imagination, this season has been far better than we could have hoped for in August. We have had cup runs in the Trophy and FA Cup, stand second in the league on goal difference alone and didn’t lose a home league game until nearly the end of March. What’s not to like and be grateful for? Furthermore the club is making progress off the pitch with supporter loans repaid, Albion in the community going great guns and the football ground being knocked back into shape. On any measure this season has seen amazing progress. Lets not spoil the party by being unnecessarily churlish.
We stand on the brink of winning automatic promotion. This team deserves our full, unconditional support. We need to stand together, sing loud and proud and enjoy the moment. Now is the time to be an Albion supporter. Let’s make the most of it !!
Agree with the sentiment Knutsfordian but lets not forget we have had several dreadful seasons prior to this one - we are well overdue a decent one (or at least potentially what could be one).
As you say, with so many good things going on off the field currently, V*cs in demise, and the other lot in Winsford hardly setting the world on fire now is the perfect time for us to progress as a club to at least somewhere near where we should be. It would be disastrous if we do not go up this season and I agree with an earlier post that I’m stating to fancy us less in the play offs having recently seen Rushden and Spalding last night. All these sides around us are coming into form at the right time and have had to play far less than we have.
The management team and everyone else at the club has done a magnificent job this season but everyone will be incredibly frustrated and disappointed if it goes pear shaped at the final hurdle. To not play the best goalkeeper in the league in such an important game as last night beggars belief. We would have had a cushion and been strong favourites had we not thrown two points away last night. At 2-0 up it looked like game over and it should have been.
I really didn’t think we’d get anywhere near Shaw Lane so to be level with them on points is brilliant and a great credit to all. As I said there HAS to be a reason about Danny being on the bench and if you trust Carl and his management team you must accept that they obviously wouldn’t want to be throwing the chance to win the league!! I was going to make one of my rare away sorties tomorrow I’m so keen to support the lads as much as possible but I just can’t make it because of work (same with Shaw Lane away next Tuesday dammit!!). So I can only check on here for score updates the team has done us proud this season every single one of them we should be proud not negative COME ON THE ALBIOOOON!!
With reference to the Pre-Match Chat thread re Gresley - we need to calm down !!! One of our club’s major problems is that we don’t handle disappointment very well - whether that’s players, managers or results. So lets just keep the faith, back OUR manager, team and staff who have got us this far and lets see what happens !!!
I just do not know why we Witton fans can’t get behind the team 100% after the great season we have been having, instead of the continual sniping. This team deserves a lot of praise for the performances they have put in, as do the management, who have brought in this fantastic bunch of players. So i for one would like to say a big thank you to players and management for what they have given us this season. UTA

UTA
I would suggest that the 300 + following to Shaw Lane is proof in itself that the fans are 100% behind the team. I don’t know of many other non league teams that take that army of support away from home. Fantastic fans fantastic team, let’s just hope they get what they deserve.
Off on one again are we? Just can’t give it a rest can you? come on then Einstein what’s the hidden agenda?
Only agenda I have is for the team to get promoted and for the manager to play his best team consistently in order for us to do that. He’s *****d that up good and proper now with his ridiculous choice of keeper.
Don’t know how Danny feels to be sidelined after he’s given us his all this season but I, along with every other fan I’ve spoken to (apart from the numpty on here) is gutted. I wish him all the best wherever he goes because he isn’t going to stick around on the bench for us!
In the meantime I’m not fancying the play offs and as another poster said the league was lost for us during the home games v Rugby and Spalding, the blame clearly lies with the manager.
Enjoy another season in the First Division South say what

Carl will have good reason for not playing Danny who incidentally is sorely missed for his height and dominance in the area. I do not believe that we would have lost the games against Rugby, Spaulding and Shaw Lane with Danny in goal. Anyway, it is what it is and we need to get over it and fast. To say that we have lost the league on the back of defeats to Rugby and Spaulding is ridiculous. If it wasn’t for the cash rich Shaw Lane we would have been home and dry by now. We have had a remarkable season and to get within 3 points of Shaw Lane is in itself an achievement. We are the best footballing side by a mile and hopefully with the backing of our fantastic fans we will get over the line UTA.
Why pick on those two games, why not the games against, Market Drayton, Vics, Romulas, Carlton and Belpher, can you remember who was in goal for those. I remember dropping points in all of them. Yes come next season we will lose some players, and we will get some new ones in, Its like that every season. And I know the vast majority of Wittoners will be behind the team and management for hopefully another exiting season, and there will no doubt a few posts on here from a certain numpty who never seems to praise the team and their efforts.
I have a record of contentious opinions but they came when we had poor managers who deserved derision, our present manager does not come into that category. In your opinion, someone I assume has never managed ANY team just watched is just that, the opinion of a supporter, you are fully entitled to that opinion but to imagine that our Manager takes ANY decision that is to the detriment of the team is simply ridiculous. Won 28 drawn 6 lost 5, 90 goals for 40 against 90 points is a record that stands up well to any season we have EVER had. I do not understand why you are so scathing over one decision he has made.
WHS.

Because in all probability that one decision has cost us the title and automatic promotion and yes I’m still smarting over it
I’d have thought an intelligent chap like yourself would have realised that
But if Carl had got Calvin Hare at the start of the season Danny probably wouldn’t have had much of a look in. Danny is a really really good keeper probably one of the best at this level, he had a great game today for instance including an incredible save good confidence and brilliant distribution. I’d certainly play him but then I’m not the manager, I’d have given Tolani more games after the superb start he had. Our management were trying their best to get the lads through a real pile up of fixtures and I have every faith in them after the great season we have had COME ON THE ALBION!
So you’ve decided to slaughter the manager on that one decision. Well done . Glad to see your with us . Pathetic. Oh by the way what about those other games we dropped points in when Danny was in goal. Yes you certainly have a hidden agenda. Now jog on .UTA. GREAT SEASON LADS. WELL DONE
Why such bitterness JT? I’m sure you would make a cracking job as a motivational speaker! You are judging the manager on one decision to drop the goalkeeper. A decision that won’t have been taken lightly. What about a bit of praise for the fantastic season? The players the manager has brought in? The style of football we have played this season? Whatever happens from now until the end of the season I for one am extremely proud of what we have achieved.
