Was just looking through some old ones following Witton Massive posts about his grandfather (sorry, got none going back that far) and came across this old hand written one, thought some of you might like a look.
That programme says we were established in 1890, but doesn’t it say 1889 on the sign on the main stand?
Really enjoyed reading that Mookie, cheers.
Am I right in thinking that there is a record of Witton Albion playing in 1887 but not for a few years afterwards, hence the 1890?
I think Left Pegger has it correct, and it continues to divide opinion. Another 125 in 2015?
Very interesting programme that and don’t ever remember seeing it before especially with the Pen Pics for our team in it.
If at all possible would really like to borrow it and any others of the like as my extensive collection, stretching back to the 1920’s, is pretty void of the early 1970’s issues (having spent a few years away from the area) that were produced as a labour of love.
See you Saturday and we can chat about it.

No problem, ill bring them down.
Back in the seventies Rob Lomax and I decided to write the Witton programs and, as we didn’t have access to a typewriter and Rob,s writing was untidy I volunteered to write them by hand and charged 2p which had only just changed from 4d in 1971.
