One in two out

We have signed Benjamin Jacob Lenders a central defender. Some of you will have seen Ben training with us, and even warming up with the team before the Bamber Bridge game (the big blonde lad). Ben was born in Farnworth, Bolton, and is 19 years old.

As Ben had played for Cleveland City Slickers in Ohio, we have been waiting for his international clearance from the USA FA.

Nige has also decided to release Liam Coyne and Chris Gahgan. I am sure you will all wish both Liam and Chris best wishes in their future career, and thank them for their efforts so far this season.

Effort ? what effort ??
Good luck to both in their next venture.

Not particularly surprised by the departure of either. I think in Coyne’s case there were questions over discipline, although he is not a bad player his behaviour might have been considered an issue. With regards to Gags, I thought he would come in and do a good job for us and show his experience at this level, I have to say I have not be hugely inspired from the little I have seen this season. My concern when he came back was whether it was more about the paycheck than the football, maybe I am wrong?

The reality of the situation is that Nige only put a handful of players on contract terms so that he had the ability to shuffle the pack as required. This will prove to be a wise move!

Not often that I get things right, but I thought Coyne might be a bit unruly for us and I always thought Caghan lost the ball far too often when his own full back was committed to the overlap, leaving us exposed at the back. What was worse was that he never seemed to learn and kept doing it.
