Onward and Up wards. A History of Witton Albion F.C. 1890-2017.
I now have pre-orders for 84 books!! Just need a date to allow people to collect them. If I hear nothing in the next week I will put my address on here and people can collect from there.
WHS.
Alan - I have emailed you about this.

Got it mate. Apparently, the volunteers are down next weekend, perhaps my being there with the books would attract more. If not, just name some dates in June, I am free most nights until the 24th.
WHS.

Andy Chadwick, who sponsored the book, will collect his copy today, John Capper has had his copy posted to him in Crewe yesterday, but worry not, your turn will come!
WHS.

Please note. I can only accept cash or cheques made out to me for the books so please have the right money when you do come for them and don’t expect to pay by card!!
WHS.

Is it worth mentioning the book to the Northwich Guardian and Our Town magazine? Just thinking that there will be some folk, particularly new ones to the area, that may not be aware of the towns main football clubs history or even its existence. It could even attract some new football fans to Wincham Park.

Might be worth mentioning it to Simmo and Our Town magazine? Just a thought. UTA

As I write for the Our Town magazine every month I think you can safely assume it will appear in there! I will put something together for the Guardian, I am giving a hardback copy to the Library so they might print that. Being bombarded by people with questions as to when they can get their books so I hope a night can be arranged soon.

Good. I have emailed you about this Alan so that the book launch can start to be arranged.

UTA

To everyone who has pre-ordered. There is to be a special night at the club to launch the book sometime in early July. You can collect your book that night or at my home straight after that night.
WHS.

The likely date is July 25th after the Burnley game, confirmation to follow from the club.
WHS.

PS Anyone who cannot make that date or come to the club to collect will be able to collect from my home, I will put my address on here nearer the time.
WHS.

Please indicate on here or on Facebook if you are happy to wait for the special night in July, if many are not I will arrange to sell the book from my home in the next week or so though I do hope you all agree to wait as Mark is trying to put on a very special night for the event, probably after the Burnley game on the 25th July. You may see in the local press quite soon that the library have a copy, this was arranged some time ago, only Andy Chad and one other person have one up to now.
WHS.

I am delighted to say in the next week or two the Guardian may carry a report on the book and that in the July edition of the OUR TOWN magazine there may well be another report. Hopefully, both will mention the launch day at the Club on the 25th July.

Accidentally saw a bit of the Vics web site and they were discussing their history and ours. They mentioned my book and were sure it would be rubbish. The only book they have on their club is how they went down the nick, ours is rightly entitled “Onward and Upwards”!!!
WHS.

Please note. On the 25th July if you are coming to buy your ordered copy of the book please have the correct cash or a cheque made out to “Alan Lowe”, I have no facility to accept payments by card.
WHS.

There is a nice write-up on the book and the launch in the July edition of the Our Town magazine.
WHS.

I am told my book lacks a bibliography, spells two men’s names wrongly and is very anti-Vics. I apologise for the first two but not the last one!! I am pleased to say that the book has been praised highly by the three people who have been allowed advanced copies because of their assistance in helping me write the book.
WHS.

I cannot reiterate too many times that I need you to have the correct cash on the 25th for your book or books or a cheque made payable to Alan Lowe. I have no facility for Credit or Debit Cards.
If you wish me to sign your book it may be that I will have to do it at a later date as there may not be time on the night. I will sign any and all that wish me to. and that is a promise.

Alright Agatha Christie!!

Sorry to go on, if I had my way you would have simply called at my home and bought a copy!!
WHS.

There is a lovely article about the book and the book launch in this months edition of “Our Town” magazine.

For those that have pre-ordered a copy of Alan’s book and will be collecting it/them on Tuesday 25th July after the Burnley friendly (and anyone else wishing to purchase a copy) there are going to be some VERY special guests in attendance at the launch. Further details to follow shortly.
