Witton Albion Football Club have confirmed the signing of 23 year old forward James Hooper, on dual registration from Altrincham. James has also featured for Carlisle United, Rochdale, FC United of Manchester & Radcliffe, where he finished the club’s leading goalscorer with 17 goals. He is available for selection for our trip to Stalybridge Celtic on Saturday.

However, forward Danny Mitchley has returned to Radcliffe following his two-month loan spell. We would like to thank Danny for his contribution to the club and wish him well for the future.

Good to hear of another signing but disappointed to hear we couldn’t keep Danny Mitchley as we are
back to square one with the number of forwards we have available.

Give him a start with Kyle Sambor and let them play a good few games together. And we should be ok if not still light on numbers what happened to Tom Edwards? UTA

Tom Edwards is apparently playing for Barnton.

Agree with Colin that Kyle Sambor should be getting a run of games until the end of the season now. We are finishing mid table now so not much to lose in giving a young lad game time and will give him massive experience for next season, when I read Hopley is hoping to be back, those two would work well in my opinion.

Excuse my ignorance but how does this dual registration work? Who has priority over the player because, if this new signing starts scoring goals can Altrincham call him back and leave Witton once again without a forward.

From experience when a player signs dual forms it means He is not ready for the senior club yet and needs games and experience but yes they will have first option if needed urgently but not usually likely to happen.
