Thoroughly deserved Danny, well done. I’m only sorry that I got so depressed by the 2nd half performance yesterday that I went straight home and couldn’t give a cheer for all the efforts put in this season by various players and staff

Well done to Robbo and Hannah for organising the awards and sorting trophies etc out. And thought the rebel MC PC did a good job too.
Danny Andrews as has been mentioned was the worthy recipient of all the player of the season awards with Ben Harrison runner up and Josh Hancock voted into third place.
To those of you unable to attend let me tell you, there was the most emotional of responses to the recipient of the ‘Ethel Stelfox Memorial Award’ which goes each year to an unsung volunteer (OF which there are very many).
This years very worthy recipient was Sam Stanley, and the room as one rose to give 90 years young Sam a standing ovation. In a season of few highs it was an amazing emotional thing to be party to and illustrates how our club can look after and upon its own, a fitting award to a fine fellow who always conducts himself with dignity and greets everyone with a cheery smile - An inspiration and example to us all. Old Sam now that brings a tear to the eye, before the days of the tinternet mobile phones and social networking it was a drive to the ground job and there would be Mr Stanley waving us all away if the game was off!! I saw him outside at Curzon Ashton after the promotion game with tears rolling down his face, shook his hand and said “we’ve done it”! bowdown
