I saw in the press that Mr. Vince felt 10 more wins would see Witton champions. Having won one of those games since I take it we now need 9 more. with 112 points still possible and Fleetwood still a serious threat I think we should be aiming for nearer 100 points rather than the 90 or so Mr. Vince feels will do. What does the fan base think?

With Scarbro’ dropping out, then there are 6 points less to play for than in previous seasons…
I don’t see Gateshead finishing THAT far off the pace. But would be nice if Frickley got what they deserve and finished rock bottom.
Just maybe taking the last time we won the NPL for in that 1990/91 season we again only had a 40 match season.
We finished with 93 points following a record of 28 Wins 9 Draws 3 Losses Goals 81 - 31.
So the mid 90’s should be around the required amount - statistically that is!
I think if we win every game between now and the end of the season then we will be champions!!!
Rabbit, you are two bob short of a quid!!! I got my figures wrong, maximum points is 106, not 112 so 95 or so may well be enough. Even so I see Fleetwood being on Witton’s tail until the death with Gateshead pushing hard too.

I’ll stick with 85 points (same as Stu). Have thought since beginning of season 85 would be a winning total. We’ll comfortably exceed that.

I really do feel at the moment that it could come down to us drawing away at Guisley and Gateshead and winning all our home games for the rest of the season. The home game against Fleetwood could be the decider and we all know what we’ll have to play against as they are physical, strong, score goals and a fairly resilient. Our lads will have to raise the anti for sure and everyone needs to be aware that Foster is going to try to wind our lads up. We need to ignore this and basically play him and the rest off the park with our fast flowing football. We can do this because quite simply our lads are brilliant!! C’mon lads we can do this in the words of the leggy Tina Turner "Better than all the rest we’re simply the best"
I don’t think we should be talking targets to be honest, lets just win as many games as we can and see where that leaves us
