PRE SEASON FRIENDLIES

Witton’s U21’s Development Squad got their pre season campaign off to an excellent start at the weekend when they took on neighbours Runcorn Linnets.

The two sides played out a tight first half, going in level 1-1 at the interval but Albion took charge after the break and added a further three goals to give themselves a comfortable 4-1 win.

Witton’s U21’s are in action again on Sunday when they take on FC St Helens in their second “behind closed doors” pre season friendly. The lads will be looking to follow up their excellent work from last week’s opening game against Runcorn Linnets.

Witton’s U21’s continued their preparation ahead of the new season with a strong performance at FC St Helens on Sunday afternoon as they made it two wins from two with a 3-1 victory.

Witton’s U21’s couldn’t make it three wins out of three in pre season as the were narrowly beaten 3-2 at higher-ranked West Kirkby on Saturday afternoon.

Back to winning ways on Sunday afternoon, as Witton’s U21’s made it three wins from four in pre season with a 2-0 success against Nantwich Town Reserves in their second game in 24 hours.

Witton’s U21’s had a busy Sunday as they sent teams to play two pre season friendlies. One squad travelled to St Michael’s DHFC U21’s and despite leading 2-1 at one stage, the game turned round and they ended up on the wrong end of a 4-2 scoreline.

The second squad made the short trip to neighbours Winsford United U21’s and put in an excellent performance particularly in the second half, winning 3-1 with goals from Andy Kanga, Seico Camara & Ellis Wrench.

Witton’s U21’s preparations for the new season are still progressing nicely as the lads chalked up another victory on Sunday, beating St Helens Town U21’s 3-1 making it five wins from seven pre season friendlies so far.

Witton’s U21’s play their final pre season friendly ahead of the new season, when they travel to Avro U21’s on Sunday afternoon. The game at the Vestacare Stadium kicks off at 2.15pm.

Witton’s U21’s rounded off their impressive pre season programme with an excellent 8-2 away success at Oldham-based Avro U21’s on Sunday afternoon.
