Pre-Season Training

Does anybody know when and where pre-season training starts. Can’t wait to go down and have a butchers at some of the new signings.

Good point, might pop down myself if I can

I believe pre-season training starts on Monday 28th June, and will be 3 nights per week, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. However, “where”, is still to be decided.

In France at the end of the month but will come down to have a look see when I get back. I am really excited about the coming season, I think it could be a great one at long last.

Why don’t you bring some of your cricket mates and rugby mates and plumber and maybe your travel agent to swell the gate?

Mates? what are they?

The coaching staff have asked me to make people aware that pre-season training will not be open to spectators. The new manager would like closed training sessions, unless he advises otherwise nearer to the big kick off.

Seems fair enough but I hope we get chance to see the team in action long before the actual season starts.

Who does he think he is - Fabio Capello ?

Erm, yeah. The pre-season friendlies maybe?

Nah, not enough hair on top.

I’ve been going to pre-season training on and off for 19 years now. However, I have never been to spectate, but to help putting cones out and collecting them in. Also to go after loose footballs.

I remember going to Knutsford to help out, when Ray Ranson was manager, and Paul Power was in charge of pre-season training. Paul’s son, Nicky was also there to help out. One night, Nicky did not seem keen to help out, and I asked him what was up? He burst into tears, and through the sobs he managed to say “Me dad has made me sign for Man City, and I wont be able to play with me mates anymore” sob sob. I was lost for words of comfort.

Shame we wont be able to get to know the new players at PST, as I think sometimes, when new players saw fans turning up at PST, made them realise they were joining a club with a good fan base, and helped them make their minds up as to whether or not to sign.

I tend to agree Thatch, if I were a player and saw dozens watching pre-season training I might be persuaded to sign.

I think its a bit precious at this level of football, for goodness sake does it matter ive done it before now and if more than 4-5 turn id be suprised :S

We barely get dozens turning up for league matches WHS, so i dont think we would get that sort of number watching training sessions…

Bad enough watching them during the season without watching them train !

For the sensitive ones only joking !

If I hear anymore of those bloody horns or whatever they are called at the World Cup I will be p****d off with football come August !

My God!! Eli and I agree on something!! When I have been watching, which isn’t often, I have turned the sound off after 5 minutes, it really does get on your nerves, what an AWFUL racket!!

Let’s just let Oggie do things his own way, only just got here and we’re monaing! :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t really hear anyone moaning Left Pegger, just expressing an opinion, and doing it in a very mild manner at that.

Was a tongue in cheek comment linking to our reputation… My point is that as long as Oggie makes us a success its not a big issue.
