thats my point thatch, telford, chester, bpa and stokes reserves hardly big crowd pullers are they.
Yes, I agree, but any higher based teams will not send their 1st teams, as they are all off on exotic summer tours, or playing in the Europa league. The only exception over the years that I can think of is Blackpool, when Paul Ince brought a full strength side.
The last time I was Football Secretary, I started writing to Alex Ferguson, and several other big club managers, in November of the season before. Most of them did not respond, but those that did just said they would get back to me. They never did, even though I followed up my initial letter every few weeks.
To be honest, it has become a waste of time, and I think the best we can hope for is a Conference, or Conference North game. Even then, they are not looking for teams like us, as they too are looking to make money, and attract teams from above them to play.
I say sod it lets have a few pre season games in Magaluf next year :goal
Having just seen the Friendly Ireland V England I think I have been put of friendlies for life. They are right, you need a bribe from Blatter to watch that sort of crap.

Matt Cat, I think your jokey answer is not so silly as it sounds, plenty of small clubs on the island who would jump at the chance of playing an English club, even a non league one. Cricket teams from England go out every year in March and April to play pre season games against the island team, why not at Football too, but in July/August?
WHS.
The big problem of playing friendlies abroad would of course be cost, players would probably have to fund it themselves would they want to do that? Having said that I would definitely go to an international friendly I’ve always wanted to see Witton in Europe! B) guinness Maybe one day but I doubt it!!
Magaluf in july, not best pre-season preperation, unless we want to play against the severn woods in the Warrington and district premier.
Cricket clubs can go out there in march/april because lets be honest it only takes three players to win a game of cricket, the rest unfortunately and heroically make up the numbers.
Another Pre Season Friendly is now confirmed.

For supporters who are not able to get to the pre season Friendlies, I am hoping to be able to provide news and updates from the games. Some of the information maybe limited because of lack of knowledge about the new players until we get used to them. I’m sure there will be a wide number of methods available to enable us to get the information across.
