Prediction competition 2009 / 10 now open

The prediction competition for this season’s league games is now operational. To enter, just go to the site home page and choose the ‘Enter Predictions’ option from the Prediction League module. Entry is free and all registered members are eligible to join this competition.

Points are scored by correctly predicting results, most points for correct score, some for correctly predicting the winning team or a drawn game, and a bonus for correctly predicting the eventual champions.

This is just for fun, but if we get enough interest there is the possibility of using it as a fund-raiser for the club. For this we would need a minimum of 10 people to pay a £5 or £10 entry fee for a ‘league within a league’, the highest placed at the end of the season would receive 50% of the money,the balance going to the club. Please reply on this thread if you are interested. This will of course need to happen before the season starts.

We now have half a dozen contestants in this competition, still plenty of time to enter.

N.B. Champions prediction

Once you have entered the competition,to make your prediction for the league winners go to ‘Contestants’ from the ‘Prediction League’ module on the home page. Select your username from the drop-down menu, then click the small edit icon next to your username (upper left of screen). You will then be able to make your team selection from a drop-down menu.

How come I could chage my predictions after the results were in on Saturday? I could have, but I didn’t.
