Support for Ukraine.
8th March 2022 PRESS RELEASE
The current position in the Ukraine has escalated disturbingly over recent days with people losing their lives or loved ones due to the military action undertaken by the Russian armed forces. The UK and Northwich have strong connections with Eastern European countries especially Poland which has opened its borders to welcome Ukrainian refuges who are fleeing the conflict.
The humanitarian damage that is being inflicted on the Ukrainian people is terrible and it is to be hoped that the fighting can be brought to a swift conclusion and the people of the Ukraine can return to their homes and commence rebuilding their lives and economy. As a gesture of solidarity with the Ukrainian people Witton Albion has decided to donate 50% of the Gate Receipts from Saturday’s game to the Ukrainian cause.
This is not only a great opportunity to come along and support Witton Albion but also sends a statement to the people of Ukraine that Northwich is with them in their fight for their freedom.
The match is on Saturday 12th March against Whitby Town kicking off at 3pm. Ticket prices are as follows: • Juniors (under 16) £2 • Young adults aged 16-21 £6 • Concessions £8 • Adults £11. All payable on the gate. Please, please come along and support your local team and help the people of Ukraine in their time of need.
If you can’t make it on Saturday or would like to help by way of donation of items or cash there is a need for clothes, basic first aid items and sanitary products.
These can be dropped off at the club on match days or at Litke Wood & Co, 105 Witton Street, Northwich, Cheshire, CW9 5DR during office hours.
Cash donations can be left as well or please use the following link: https://donation.dec.org.uk/ukraine-humanitarian-appeal - where the government will match fund public donations £1 for £1.
Many thanks.
