Pro Evo European Championships

Anticipation is building now, and i hope the Czech Republic v Turkey game can live up to last night’s meeting…

If anybody can’t make it then please let me know by Wednesday so we can get replacements.

As stated, kick off will be at 1pm sop please try to be at Witton at least 10 minutes before that.

There will be food provided.

Thanks again to Derek Buckley for his generous sponsorship of the event.

I’m really sorry but Dave is struggling to make it on Saturday could anyone replace him?

I have found a replacement.

WittonRobbo is ready to step in if anyone drops out. Stu needs to tell Lucy to hang on till Sunday!

FAO: Robbo

Thought i would ask if any pro evo members have dropped out for saturday? if anybody does i would like to throw myself in the hat. Im a mate of danny s.
Im gonna be down their anyway so i’ll see you all there.

At the moment we have a full quota of participants, but things can always change at the last minute!

Everyone is welcome to come down and cheer on your favorite nation!

If you’re armed with the £10 entry fee and a bit of coin-age for fines etc, then there is every chance that you mind yourself taking part if we get any drop outs.

Should be a laugh anyway!!

Looks like Italy will be making an early exit out of the tournemant!!

I hear Spain are feeling very confident

Come on i cant stand the suspence any longer…WHO WON??

Congratulations to Clarkey, playing as the Netherlands he defeated Robbo’s Germany in the final.

It struck me he had 2 secrets to his success;

  1. He was the only person to turn up in a replica top

  2. He was much better at pro evo soccer than anyone else!

Thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon as did my son, Matthew and his friend Seb. Rachel behind the bar was pleased with the takings so perhaps we should do it again some time?

Well done to Robbo for yet another wizard wheeze.

Excellent day!! And my chinese takeaway with the winnings was even better!!

Thanks must go to Drew though as his own goal saved me from elimination in the group stage!

Robbo, how much did we raise for the club in the end?

Winning the 24 pack of beer helped me 2get over the Qf lose to Poland:ohmy:

OK, i’m almost over my complete mauling in the final… (it was NEVER a penalty…!!).

Winner - Adam Clarke/Holland (and his mate the referee…)
Runner-Up - Me/Germany

Was brilliant to see the younger lads involved, and i think if we run this again in 4 years time then they will be real contenders!

BIG thanks to everyone who came down to play/watch/support.

Once again, a MASSIVE MASSIVE thanks to Derek Buckley who’s sponsorship made the event such a success.

Thanks to Graham Pickering for donating a crate of lager - we used this to raise a little bit more money.

So in total, the full amount raised was £298. This is excellent as everyone managed to have a great afternoon whilst doing this.

There has been some interest in setting this up on a regular basis, so i will certainly be looking into this over the next couple of weeks.

Again, thanks to everyone who took part.

Well done Robbo…a greatly enjoyed it as a speccy.

And to think that whilst all this was going on, Pritch and his wife were busy painting the stadium. What a guy, and behind every great guy, there is a great wife…nice to meet you at last Mrs Pritch.

Pritch asked me to look out for 2 things he needs:

  1. A roofer, who will repair the leak in the dressing room roof (for free, or at a very low cost).

  2. A tin of red fire resistant paint, as this is required on the fire escape doors. If you hav’nt got red, I’m sure Pritch would be happy ith PINK.

If anybody can help, or put forward suggestions on how we can get these jobs done vey cheaply, then please take one step forward.

thanks robbo. Enjoyed the day and glad to see it raised the club some money. I Was confident after winning the group with sweden, but after just losing out to eventual and deserved winners holland in a thrilling quarter final im eager to get it on again, with a slightly more quality team i may have gone all the way, but its all ifs and buts, until next time…well done all involved!

Not As Confident As You Were When You Were Drawn With Me In The Doubles Tournament  :stuck_out_tongue:

Well done Robbo for organising the day and for all the lads for getting involved. Great use of the social club and an extremely well planned day. We have the Wincham Park facility 24/7 and therefore initiatives like this that make good use of it are fantastic.

Also a big thanks to Derek Buckley for his generous sponsorship/donation.

A top effort from everyone involved.
