Programme

If you read all my comment you would note that I thought the idea of an article on old players was a good one, all I was saying was the volunteers are, in my opinion more important than most players either now or then, they are there forever unlike most players. As for my refusing to watch Foster, I still hold the view that he is not the kind of player I am happy to see don the" Red and White".

PS I wrote articles for the programme a few years ago and would be happy to do so again if required, but I have to say the people doing it now are doing a far better job than I did. I like Thatched Tavern’s idea by the way.

Fans of Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Rushall Olympic didn’t see their club win a title last season but they did enjoy reading one of the best matchday programmes in Non-League football.

Scribes at the Premier Division’s Pics are celebrating after being honoured this summer in the annual programme awards run by the Soccer Club Swap Shop. For the second season running, Rushall took the accolades for producing the best programme, pictured, in the Evo-Stik NPL’s top flight.

That made it a hat-trick of successes after they won the First Division South’s honours three years ago before promotion.

Witton Albion and Ashton United took second and third place respectively in the Premier Division’s stakes while Rushall can also lay claim to producing one of the best matchday magazines in the country last season after being named as joint fourth placed winners nationally.

Rushall Olympic spokesman Pete Athersmith paid tribute to the club’s programme editor and printer for their continuing success.

He said: “The award is testament to the tremendous hard work by programme editor Darren Stockall and a special mention must also go to Gary Cooper and his company WM Print, who print the matchday programme. This makes it three seasons on the run that the club have held this coveted position.”

Soccer Club Swap Shop’s Non-League Top 10:
1st Chelmsford City
2nd Marske United
3rd Epsom & Ewell
4th Rushall Olympic (joint)
4th Leamington (joint)
6th Stockport County
7th St Helens Town
8th Hoddesdon Town
9th Boston United
10th FC Halifax Town
10th Bracknell Town

Runners up well done great effort by all :clap

Just so there is no possibility of any misunderstanding I UNRESERVEDLY apologise to Paul S and anyone else who took offence to my message. I cannot make many matches so I am extremely grateful to those volunteers and supporters who keep the club going.

No apology needed WHS, but thanks anyway. In fact I agree with you that it is a fantastic idea to do an article on our volunteers. Just a suggestion but would it be possible to do an article on a volunteer in one edition and then a “where are they now” piece for the following home game or something like that? Both would make very interesting reading imo. I also think a fans section about their favourite witton games, players etc would be good and I’d be happy to contribute if required.

Seems like the editor has got a lot of help on offer which is great.
