Race Night - Thursday 2nd October

The Supporters Team are running a Race Night at Witton on Friday 5th September to raise money for the Development Fund.

Tickets will be £3 each and can be purchased from any member of the Supporters Team, and also from the Club Shop.

We will also need people to sponsor races, horses, and jockies.

As previously, we will be looking for people to donate bottles of wine for the owners of the winning horses (I think it’s 16 bottles that we require).

Just to clarify for people the funds are going towards the £15k target for the team budget this year.

Some important advice for organisers…

LEGALITY (only applies to Fundraising events)
You should ensure your event falls within the conditions of the Lotteries and amusements
act 1976 (Amusements with Prizes) for which no Licence is required
Whilst we are not able to provide Legal Advice the following is our own interpretation:
You include another attraction. E.g. Supper, Bar, Disco, Raffle etc.
(It should be run as a Fish and Chip Supper and Race Night
not, a Race Night with Fish and Chips if you see what I mean).
Proceeds go to your club or charitable cause not private gain.
Advertising is restricted to your own members and premises.
You do not Select or open any Race Video until after all betting for that race is
complete.
The main rule seems to be it must be a game of Luck not Skill!
Check the Department for culture media and sport http://www.culture.gov.uk/

Just too many people stabbing this club and its supporters in the back at the mo. Always better to do things right from the start.

Robbo, at yesterdays game WHS as promised donated a bottle, also Derek Buckley, Chad and Neil Wilson all donated the bottles they won from the summer draw back for the race night. I have them all at the club, might as well leave them there until the night?

It looks as though we will be putting the night back 2 weeks due to some other things that are going on.
