Coventry City have confirmed Ray Ranson has resigned as the club’s chairman.
It was widely expected Ranson was to step down from his role at the Ricoh Arena after speculation intensified last week over his future.
Ranson saved the club from administration in December 2007, but the last few months have been turbulent for the Championship strugglers.
The Sky Blues sacked boss Aidy Boothroyd earlier this month following their drop down the table and then it was revealed Football League had placed a transfer embargo on the club due to financial problems.
