Ouch!
why?
Maybe not the best time to play the league leaders when we have injuries and potential suspensions after last nights fiasco! No disrespect as our lads have been bloody superb but we are a bit thin on the ground at the moment!
The league have kept that date free, maybe because of our involvement in the Trophy. However, now that we have been knocked out, they took the decision to arrange a game on that date.
What I cant understand is why they have moved this game forward from February, rather than arrange one of the games that do not have any date at all? Having said that, I don’t fully know the matches that those other teams have at the moment, so I cant complain.
That was my first thought as well when you gave me the details. By process of elimination Shaw Lane hadn’t got a game that night so they re arrange our game. Bare in mind, we also have to play Shaw Lane away and that fixture is one of those still to be re arranged.
I’m still trying to get over the travesty on Tuesday night and now we get this terrible news. The point is that we need to play Shaw Lane with the best squad we can pick from as I think it will come down to us and them neck and neck for the league. They have to be favourites as there seems to be money available against our fantastic wafer thin squad. I’m not sure how it works on when the suspensions cut in for Matty Devine who should never have been sent off, and Toli. I think we are ok as regards defensive cover and we can probably get by in midfield but I think Rob has been playing with an injury anyway, so we are really light up front. It seems to be a poison chalace wearing our no 10 shirt with Cameron and now Steve both out injured. Really feel for Carl and co because its pretty obvious despite us having a tight budget that we need reinforcements pronto up front. With the Toli situation kind of being in and out I’d really like to see us make a permanent signing not easy I know but we really do need to concentrate our efforts now on catching up in the league.
Not sure what team we can field over the next 3 games but really could do without the Shaw Lane one now. I’m hoping its as frosty as hell come Tuesday morning personally. I know I’m proably being paranoid but do you get the feeling events are doing their best to conspire against us? With these lads though we know they won’t chuck the towel in thats a cert!!
The re arranged fixture for next Tuesday, 20th at home to Shaw Lane has now been Postponed and will be rescheduled for another date.
Got your wish MONA!!

The league wanted to **** us over after our Trophy exploits??
By the way according to Devachatters we will be fined for the number of cards we got on Tuesday (being one of the best teams in the whole Evostick discipline-wise) this couldn’t be true could it as it was due to the utter incompetence of a certain official?
The information I was given was that the game will now not be going ahead on Tuesday.
Great news thanks Derek. I realise we’ll have to play this game some time but preferably with a full squad to pick from as we need all our players against Shaw who to me look like the team we’ll have to go against if we want to win the league. I guess we’ll be short for the Vics game but maybe Carl can pull something out of the hat before then.
If I counted right they had SEVEN bookings including the Sending off.

He showed three more red cards this afternoon in the Southport vs Eastleigh game.
Now why does that not surprise me. A ref who shows a lot of cards is obviously incompetent and does not have the ability to control a game. Cards should be a last resort, in his case they appear to be the first.

The bigger question is why he was being allowed to referee another game so soon after the debacle at Chester. The FA ask for respect for referees, but will never accept that some referees are completely useless and need to be retrained before they are allowed back on a pitch, Respect goes both ways and they hugely disrespect clubs by allowing a to$$er like this this to referee another high profile non-league game without some sort of cooling off/training period. The FA deserve all the criticism/abuse they get by ignoring the obvious
I would have thought it will take much longer than 4 days for the assessors paperwork to work its way through the FA system. If there is any justice in the world he will be pulled up for his performance in our game. Completely agree that he shouldn’t have had a game yesterday, it sounds like he made a pigs ear of that one too.
What a plonker.
Well it is the FA and I heard the assessor was Uriah Rennie !!! so he probably thought he had a good game LOL
