Re:Save Jim Vince

I think you are way off the mark.

Somethink was agreed, on a one to one basis between Mike and Jim about something I don’t know about. I can only assume it was about players budgets, but I could be way wide of the mark. I believe Mike is now saying this agreement never took place, which is tantamount to calling Jim a Liar. It is on this principal that has forced Jim into a corner, from which he sees no alternative but to resign. Nige Deeley, the straightest man I have ever known (and I have known him for 24 years), has resigned also, even though he wants to continue, but he feels he owes it to Jim to support him.

I can understand Mikes position if he agreed to a financial package, which in the cold light of day, with us still being in the Unibold League, does not stack up financially. He does not want to commit the cardinal business sin of agreeing to a budget that we can’t afford. We should admire him for this.

However, he should admit to the promises he made to Jim, which he know feels we cannot afford.

Hopefully Jim and Mike can talk about this, and Jim could agree to a reduced budget to begin with, whilst Mike has the chance to get the commercial side sorted out, and the fans are given the chance to raise money to the breach the difference in aspirations.

I am sure some sort of rights issue with shares could sort things out.

Glad to hear you feel I am way off the mark. To be honest I was hoping I was as I have always felt Mr. Vince was an extremely honest man. I do hope this impasse can be sorted out and the problem put down to a simple misunderstanding.
