Not sure whether we should be calling you Nostradamus or Mystic Meg - did you eat too much cheese before going to bed last night???
I love your prediction and hope it comes true. Telford could wobble (has been known before), but realitically they are 18 points ahead of us and I can’t see them dropping that many points that we will overtake them. I hope you are right and I am wrong. Yes, they have played 4 games more than us but their points are ‘in the bag’, plus they have played their away games against the 4 clubs currently below them (as say currently as we will shortly be in that group)!!! In fairness they have also only lost once this season, if they bottle it now it would be an unbelievable stumble. With their resources/crowds they should p*** this league.
As for us and more importantly, I think we can firmly establish ourselves in the play-offs. There are no sides in this division that we cannot beat and therefore the play-offs themselves should not be a concern (that’s not to say that I will not have bitten off all my fingers nails and had to change the boxer shorts several times during the games)! The revenue from the play-offs will be useful anyway in adding to the side for the CN!!!
Whatever the outcome of our predictions going up is a realistic target, we are the form team of this division and no one would want to be coming to Wincham Park at the moment, let’s send Marine home empty handed on Saturday. We possibly have the hardest game of anyone above us at the weekend and therefore we need to keep up the pressure.
See ya Saturday.
You know I think we take Jim Vince and Benny Phillips a bit for granted. I was never a great fan of Mr. Phillips when he was Manager, I thought he was too defensive, but I have to say the combination of these ywo men has produced the most attractive side I have EVER seen at Witton, including the Wembley team. They may or may not be as good, but the football they always try to play is better even than that team in my opinion. Long may it continue. We always think our players are good enough for higher leagues, I think Jim Vince and Benny Phillips are good enough to go much higher too, hopefully with Witton. Once again, Thank you gentlemen for giving me and the rest of the supporters a team to be VERY proud of.

My Sentiments exactly WHS. Jim is the best manager in nothern non league soccer. Benny is brilliant as he’s a good foil forJim on the football side and has done a great job on the commercial side. The most important thing is to hang on to them both even at the risk of letting some players go. Hopefully though that won’t be the case and have to agree this is the best football side in recent times eclipsing the Nigel Gleghorn teams. I’m enjoying the crack this year and what I really like is going in the club after the game and Jim coming over and having a chat. He’s is an intelligent, knowledgeable guy and pleasant too and will listen if you have a point o make about the team in sometimes he even acts upon it. All in all there are some managers in higher leagues who might learn some things from Jim. I’m a big admirer and suggested he be given a chance to certain people even when Mr Finley was in residence. No disrespect to Gary but Jim is inVINCEable!! Well done for posting this on here we tend to forget just why we are where we are with our two talismen in charge.
And while we on the theme of patting people on the back I think we have to give the board some credit for making the appointments in the first place, I for one knew nothing about Jim before and admit to being a bit sceptical about it just being the cheap option when we should be going for a bigger name to take us up. I am pleased to say I was WRONG and the only worry I have now about Jim being our manager is how long we can keep hold of him! when people like Dario at Crewe are going on TV telling everyone what a fine coach we have at Witton then I’m sure a lot of people are taking notice.
I noticed Jim when I took a young lad along to a couple of training nights before he was appointed Manager. The sessions he ran were clever and inventive and I was mightily impressed. He has shown he can get players to play good football even when under pressure, no easy task.
