RE : Witton Res V Barnton

Final Score :-
Witton Res 2 V 5 Barnton.

Witton started well with Mark Jones and Adam Foy dominating midfield and looked dangerous on the wings with Kyle Griffin and Chris Gaghan constantly threatning the Barnton goal. Although Witton were creating most of the chances, Barnton took the lead due to a mix up in the Witton defence.
Witton came back strongly and equalized through Mark Jones and took the lead with a Chris Gaghan goal, both making space before slotting home.At this point Witton were playing well and looking to increase there lead further only for a Barnton player to score from an offiside position which was somehow missed by the linesman.
This seemed to unsettle Witton and Barnton took the lead with a well taken goal just before half-time.

Barnton started much better in the second half and both teams struggled to create any real chances. Barnton were starting to dominate and with Witton trying to push for an equalizer were caught out with a long ball and Barnton went further ahead. Witton were struggling to make any impact on the game but continued to try and get back into the game without creating any clear cut chances.
The pace of Barnton forwards were causing Witton a problem and once again a long ball over the top led to Barnton scoring a fifth goal and effectively ending the game.

Finishing on a positive note, Mark Jones was once again outstanding and his extra quality shines through and Adam Foy returned after a long injury and played really well lasting 90 minutes.

Great to hear Adam Foy is now fully fit, he will give more power to Jim Vince’s effort to get us out of the Unibond Premier League at last.

Have to agree fully with you there WHS is great to hear that adam is back playing football again!

Thanks for the report Alan, glad to see you’ve got your connection hiccup sorted.

OK not the best result but as long as we stay above Rylands & Daten then the Reserves will be in a decent standard of league again next season. Thus beneficial to all parties at the club.
