Reserves in President's Cup Final

Many congratulations to Neil Gill and his Reserve team for winning at Greenalls 5-2 this afternoon to make the Final of the Presidents Cup. They will play 2nd Division Warrington Town Reserves who beat Division One leaders Pilkington 4-3.

So it wasn’t all bad news for the Albion this afternoon what with the Under 14’s girls winning their Cheshire Cup Final 5-1 against Port Vale.

The Reserves have a load of matches still to play and are down at Moss Farm on Monday against Stalybridge Celtic and on Wednesday against Pilkington. Matches kick-off at 6:30pm.

Then on Saturday they go up t’hill to play Barnton whom they are level on points with but have 4 games in hand on the Jam Towners

The Final against Warrington Town Reserves is being played at Trafford FC’s ground on Saturday May 10th. Kick-off 3pm.

Hope to see a good following going along to support our second string.

Don’t forget to congratulate the hosts on getting back into the UniBond league also

Please could we have directions to Trafford FC ?

Thanks.

I’m away next weelend, but following the reserves feels like a good idea at the moment…

Well up for that. Just to clarify, is that Witton Albion Reserves FC?

Following Witton Albion Reserves could be a great idea, I like the name Witton Albion Reserves FC…

It has a certain ring to it doesn’t it?

Really shows that affiliation to the club

Much more than other names

I couldn’t imagine them being called anything else, they are Witton Albion Reserves FC after all

Let’s stop pussy-footing around and get it out there.

There are rumours that the reserve side is to be re-launched as Northwich United next season - i’ll just repeat that first bit; NORTHWICH - to show affiliation to the ‘town’.

Any official comment?

Say it ain’t so!

I’ve got to admit that I have heard this rumour and if it is true as I suspect, it is an absolute disgrace and a sure sign of the way that our club is going at the moment.

Yeah I also heard that…

No smoke without fire chaps.

WTF is going on?. . . .Northwich? we’ll be getting green hoops next FFS:angry:

Agreed Grazzer. It seems Mr Worthington is losing the plot…

I’ll be going, long time since i’ve been to trafford.

I’ll be there.

Should the reserves be called something else next season do they move away from being affiliated to our club and become self funding etc?
People have often argued they aren’t as close to the senior club as they should be - this should help.
What do the people involved with the reserve set up think - surely they’d be happier being associated with a senior non-league club?
