… has kindly obtained the following signed gear to auction/ sell.
Thought we could have our own internal WAFC-bay and anyone interested in bidding just reply to this. Ultimately they will go to the Sportsman’s Dinner event but if we reach the reserve before then then they’ll be sold to you.
1st: Signed Micha Richards England shirt that he wore on his debut v Israel.
2nd: Michael Owen shirt v Estonia signed by the whole of the England team.
Firstly a big thank you to Rod for such an excellent gesture.
Is it possible to try and get some links on other club’s websites for these items? For example Micha Richards is set to become a huge star and I think a City fan would pay handsomely for this shirt.
A cracking gesture by Rod to get hold of that gear, should raise good money for the club, good lad!
My only concern GE in these going into auction at the Sportsman’s Dinner is that is really reduces the potential number of people who might pay a high price for these! I would guess that each of the items could generate well over £100 each, the Michael Owen shirt possibly a lot more.
Is it worth putting these on ebay (so long as Rod is ok to sell them anywhere) and perhaps put reserve prices in of say £150 per item. The amount that people in the room might be willing/able to pay is a lot less than we might be able to get for them!
There are some drawbacks to using e bay, fees for example can soon build up as I have found out in the past when buying/selling stuff for witton on there, sportsmans dinners can raise a lot during the auction depending on who is there, the last one at Winsford for example some stuff went there for unbelievable prices, I think we should spread the word and people can put in their bids on here the highest bid is the starting point at the dinner, if no one beats it then that person has got a great item.
