shocked and saddened to hear such awful news. a great player for witton, always gave his all, and went on to have a great career… my deepest sympathy to rod’s family.

A fine servant to local football. as well as his links to Witton and Northwich he was Winsford’s Keeper the last time they reached the FA Cup First Round in the 70s and was still turning in brilliant performances for Lostock in the 80s when he played in the same team as Mike.

Rod was before my time but I remember watching Mike at the CG during my early days of being a Wittoner, who of course went on to Leeds United from us. Sincere condolences to the family, RIP Rod.
