It is what it is Andy. We probably would have lost there in the last two seasons!

I would have taken a point before the match, but having seen Romulus now I think it is 2 points dropped ! we were all over them first half and they defended manfully and clung on getting the run of the ball when it mattered, second half I thought we would batter them but missing Bauress and Williams our best 2 centre mid players we actually faded a bit and whilst we still had chances to win it Romulus came back into it and held us pretty well to draw. A bit more patience in the build up and we would have still won it, blazing shots over when in good positions and wasting umpteen crosses , its the first game I have seen us not push on second half and it shows really that our squad is not so deep and we need a couple of good players players to boost us and keep us at the top.
The pitch seemed to play OK the odd bad bounce and the pace was strange but the most worrying thing was the amount of players who pulled up with injuries from both sides and from that point of view it looks dangerous ! and it looked awful ! black rubber all over it in excess I guess because it is new ?
Still we are top of the table and when all players are available I think we will deserve to be ie we will be the best side- staying there will of course be harder than getting there ! UTA
I don’t think it is a new pitch CJ, I think its about 5 years old but there have been a few problems of late. Just goes to show that a 3G pitch isn’t a maintenance free replacement for a grass pitch
The thing about artificial pitches is that they can be used all year round and thus bring in extra revenue. They are not perfect by any means but as I said earlier many Pro pitches are semi artificial in that they don’t cut up like the used to.

not absolutely sure but the locals told us it was new ! and has been a problem from day 1 according to them.
you could well be right CJ, I may have picked up the wrong info - but If that’s the case it shows even the newest versions aren’t appropriate for this level of football
