Come on girls, calm down:)
ambitions change with success and this moment in time Droylsden seems the right stepping stone to achiving this ambition of Liams which is to get back into league football, no doubt this will change again should this happen and his new ambition would be to progress up the leagues to go as high as possible.
Robbo granted you were praising liams performances in a witton shirt but on the flip side you were slatting his ambitions…everyones ambitions are different and along the way to making these ambitions reality decision on made sometimes good sometimes bad…
just think back to when you were a kid your ambitions were to be a professional footballer no doubt, and the fact you are a witton fan now tells me you didnt achieve this ambition…liam also had this ambition and is fortunate to still be good enough to be in the postion to be able to pursue this ambition to make it reality, witton did not make him the player he was today they just gave him the platform to showcase his talents which obviously he is grateful for although this may not have happened had Witton gave Jim the chance…Liam would have only gone on somewhere else and showcased his talents.
one last point from someone who has had the pleasure of following Liams football career from when it started and being the first person to teach him how to play to where it is now, i have the privilege of knowing Liam is a great all round footballer and will play well in most positions, it just so happens he filled a void one game for witton and it spiralled from there…i have no doubt had witton put Liam left wing, right wing or centre midfield so vast is his ability he would have performed outstandingly here as well over a sustained period of time…dont forget he was being kept out of the team at right back by the amazing Tom Spearitt (where is he now???)
dont forget he was being kept out of the team at right back by the amazing Tom Spearitt (where is he now???)
Does that not say more about Liam’s performance at rightback than it does about Tom’s ability? Or was it just poor decision-making by the manager?
Either way, i don’t see your point.
my point being Liams ambition still lives strong, whilst the same ambition you had never came to fruition so you had to change yours.
my point on tom spearitt is he was established at right back which meant Liam didnt get his chance to play regularly like he did at left back.
I still cant believe why Robbo never made it pro:ohmy:
Liam dont know how you can have a go at Robbo when he is one of those supporters who hero worshipped you for two years. What about the fans, if you lot had been half the team you think you are and had any bottle witton would be in the blue square north now and none of this would have happened. The team blew it and then have walked away as if it was nothing to do with them that we did not win promotion.
Sod off to droylesdon and come back on here when you have actually won something.
I also think the fans like Robbo should stop hero worshipping players (apart from Pritch)cos the players dont give a toss about the fans at the end of the day.
Billy, how on earth do you know whether Robbo wanted to be a train driver, nuclear scientist or footballer. For someone who professes to know so much how on earth can you compare Robbo’s ambition to Liam’s, how do you know which of the two is more ambitious or for that matter has achieved more in their career so far. Robbo probably earns more than Liam and does not have to drive to East Manchester to do it, does this make him more ambitious. You can’t possibly answer this because it is all relative.
Anyway whilst you are here, if you have plenty of time on your hands to debate Liam versus Robbo in the Great Ambition Table can I ask when you or Jim will get round to answering the questions I have posted in another thread?
Oh, and while I think of it, it is more or less ambitious to manage a side in Unibond North or the Unibond Premier, add that question to the others on my list (which you have conveniently so far failed to answer)???
We can play this game all day long Billy, I have plenty more questions.
B)
Silly Billy - you are boring the ar*e off me - should’nt you be on the M62?
While you are on there watch out for the Jack Richards trucks.

Rabbit firstly let me respond to the above…in my experience it is every football loving young boys dream/ambition to be a professional footballer…but i dnt see what money has to do with it that is not ambition unless you want to achieve a status that goes with your totally going off the arguement.
now to your questions…wouldnt want you hanging on for them!!
Did he attend a meeting at Droylesden with one of our former players and if so why? this i have not spoke to jim about unfortunately so i cannot comment
Did he initiate any contact with our players after departure by phone or by text discussing moves away from the club, and again if so why? no he did not
Did he advise players that the best ones were leaving and they should move on and if so what was the motivation for this? no
Did he suggest to a club official that he would forgo any money the club owed him for the release of one of our players? No
Did he make approaches to other clubs looking to line up deals for our players? Jim is not an agent.
Did he stand to benefit financially from the transfer of any of our players to another club and if so is this appropriate? no he didnt again he is not an agent
Did he meet with Altrincham to discuss their managers job at the end of the season? No
Did he block a significant financial offer for one of our players only for that player to leave for free, and if so why and was the player told? NO
Did he fail to get players to sign contracts and why was this not done earlier in the season rather than waiting until the end? No
Did he use his operation as an excuse for leaving when stating he needed six months off to recuperate? No
Did he not have a position confirmed at Crewe’s Academy lined up despite making the above statement? No
Did he approach Ian Kearney, as Ashton United suggest, regards signing for a new club which he is about to manage? according to the papers he did but i haven’t asked him about this
answers as you asked you may not believe them but they are answered like you asked…
Players and managers, and board members come and go and they all have reasons for doing so for which it is not for you to question, you support the team whoever the board members, manager and players are so why spend so much time worryin about other peoples decisions on here when you could use it raising funds for your club and their season ahead as i believe it is very much needed…
Good luck to you all next season and hopefully the long over due promotion the club Witton Albion deserves and Brian Pritchard derserves for his services over the years to Witton Albion…
Thanks Billy for taking time to answer the questions as you have proved how little you either know or how little you have been told!
I’m not going to go through the individual questions in response as you have proved my point. I had the conversation with Jim about him meeting with Altrincham so that is one that may come as a shock to you! He has confirmed on the telephone the position he has at Crewe with the youth academy. I could go on Billy but I would be wasting more of my time and yours.
On the wanting to be a footballer issue, my grandfather played as a full international for Scotland (including against England), played in the same Stoke City side as Stan Matthews (I have the caps and first team photo of him sat two away from Sir Stan should you need addtional proof). My father was offered professional terms by Port Vale and Wolves but decided to become an Architect instead. I had no dreams to be a footballer but plenty of ambition to achieve other things!
On the final issue, I have raised and donated many thousands towards Witton and the fact I am still up at this late hour is due to working on certain issues for the club, which I have been doing for several hours this evening.
You are failing to do a credible job of Jim’s PR and unfortunately if only a portion of the questions asked were true the behaviour is inappropriate for someone who professed to love the club and to be a fan, had the trust of the fans and their full support.
Time to bury the subject Billy as frankly talk of Jim is boring me and despite your previous claims you will not win this argument.
Seldom has one individual disappointed me as much as Jim has, that statement sums it up in a nutshell. I am sure he can live with this, but reputations tend to follow people in football. I suggest you stop trying to defend actions that you are not totally aware and the subject is closed once and for all. If he needs a PR man in the future I am sure you will get that call but do ask yourself if you really do know the full truth. Still no denial or statement from Jim.
I see it’s gone down like a lead balloon on Alty’s website too! They’re more upset than us!
Ouch that is a mauling
2 threads, 6 pages!
Billy, you’re really getting my goat now.
I’ll give you a brief life summary on myself, then maybe you’ll feel you know me a little bit better.
I actually despised football until i was almost 10 years of age (the 1990 World Cup to be exact…). My Dad used to take me to watch Witton when i was naughty!! That was at the old Central Ground, which we sold and moved to our current purpose built home due to a burning lack of ambition. The same lack of ambition that saw us go on to win the HFS Loans League (the current BSN), and to reach 3 FA Trophy semi finals in succession, and 1 Wembley final of course.
Anyway i’m going off topic…
So as someone who didn’t get into football until he was 10 years old, my burning childhood amition wasn’t to be a footballer. By the time i was into football i would have been quite happy just to be able to play as part of a team. Something that i finally did about 18 months ago when we formed the Witton Supporters Team. That i then went on to play for ‘Witton’, in the first team kit, against our sworn rivals Northwich Vics, infront of 250 people at Winsford United’s stadium, probably means that i exceeded any humble ambition that i may of harboured since the age of 10.
The earlier point i made is that ambition is surely the desire to be the best that you possibly can be. Liam had the offer of BSP football and turned it down for Droylsden, so he has failed to take the opportunity to test himself at the best available level. I am already at the best footballing level i am ever likely to reach, and am quite comfortable with that. Depending on your viewpoint, you could therefore say that i have achieved more than Liam!!
And in regards to our former manager, like Rabbit i have had telephone conversations where he has told me a) that he has put Witton players in touch with other Clubs, b) that he spoke to Alty about the managers job, and c) that he was to take up a job at Crewe in September. Now i wouldn’t like to call him a liar if he is telling you otherwise, but he has certainly lied to one of us…

Final question for Liam; if you consider rightback to be your strongest position, then why does Alty signing a leftback hold any fear for you? Surely if you are good enough to play for England at Leftback, then you should be good enough to get into Alty’s team in your strongest position?
Whoever advised you to go to Droylsden obviously doesn’t have your best interests at heart - which is a real shame.

Probably a certain ex-manager, who only has one persons interests at heart…his own!

congratulations robbo on achiving all you ever wished to now you’ll be happy to know i am also pleased you know the answers to the questions rabbit posted as did i…but as i was only sent here to dip the bait in the water but as its not even in yet i have still got a catch.
Billy,
You are clearly an idiot. Your already fragile credibility and supposed “inside knowledge” has been shattered yet you still come back to take another verbal battering from people who know considerably more about this situation.
Nobody is fooled by your “i knew that really, just seeing if you knew the answers” playground esque response to being rumbled. You are a dimwit and a simpleton, and frankly you will fit in fine at Halifax.
Now kindly remove yourself from our board and go waste someone elses time.
i know i was the one that urged Liam Brownhill to contact the FA over the validity of his contract as it was plain as day in valid…i even had it reviewed by my legal representative for him.
I know that there was a bid made for Liam in January from Stockport which was turned down which upon contract talks nige and the board tried to disguise as only a loan offer
i know that Alti had ear marked Jim as the successor to Mr Heathcote
I know that the night before your biggest game of the season a certian Mr Kearney was out all night on the ale as it was bank holiday.
i know that Jim offered to forgo £5k owed to him by the club to allow Liam to leave
I know that halifax have approached Jim a postion he currently hasnt accepted but i hope he now does…
the list goes on and on
