Competitive action returns for Witton’s U21’s Development Squad on Sunday afternoon when they make the short trip to neighbours Runcorn Linnets in the Supplemental Cup. Following the season being curtailed due the Covid Pandemic, a cup competition played in a league format has been devised and teams play others from across their league structure. Sunday’s game is the first of three group matches for Witton, played on a Round Robin basis with further games against 1874 Northwich and Abbey Hey to follow in the coming weeks. The first game is being played at The Millbank Linnets Stadium with a 2pm kick off but due to the current Covid restrictions, all games are being played behind closed doors.

Team news: Witton make six changes to the team which played out an excellent draw in the midweek friendly at Maghull FC. Rob Hughes, Nathan Wilson, Jak Higginbotham, Tom Shone, James Rogers & Hamish Essa all start. Dylan Jeffery drops to the bench. Joe Johanson, Kenyatta Burnal, Billy Jones, Tom Jones, Kai Arthur & A Trialist are not involved. Louis Haddock & Sean Holt come into the squad.
