Witton’s Academy team travel to local rivals Runcorn Linnets in an ESPFA Northern Division fixture on Thursday afternoon.

Linnets are the reigning Northern Division Champions following an excellent campaign last season in which they reached the Grand Final only to lose out to Midlands Champions Rushall Olympic.

Witton have begun the season in excellent form with two wins from their opening two games but face their toughest test so far.

Runcorn Linnets have only played one game so far and claimed all three points so something will have to give in this fixture.

Witton will prove to be a stronger proposition this season and the contest is expected to be closer than previous seasons.

Kick off at The APEC Taxis Stadium is 12pm.
