Manchester United sack David Moyes, whatever next? Is no one safe? Have United learned nothing from the manager-go-round that followed the retirement of Sir Matt Busby? Continuity is ALL in football, without it clubs go aimlessly into the wilderness if they are not careful. It has taken Liverpool years to get the right man at long last and Spurs, having had the right man on a couple of occasions sacked them for no good reason. Only clubs like City and Chelsea with money to burn can afford to change their managers so often and still do okay. What next, Wenger? Surely the success of Brendan Rogers has shown Brits can make good, even great managers.

I take it you think that Moyes should have been given another season to inflict his painful, negative sh** on a stick percentage football on us then WHS?
If there had been signs that he was moving in the right direction im sure he’d have got more time, but he did little right.
I agree with WHS, Moyes’ sacking represents all that is wrong with modern football.
Another decade would have been better? :clap
I remember many years ago working with a couple of United fans whilst Fergie was in his first couple of seasons. They swore they would never attend another United game whilst Fergie was in charge.
I did remind them of that over many years.

I’m sure there’s plenty of people who would agree with me that Utd are moving in the right direction - downwards!

Chelsea sacked Ancelotti after winning the double, Di Matteo after winning the Champions League. Moyes takes thechampions to 7th and loses the dressing room and its an outrage he’s sacked .veryangry
What is wrong is he was given a SIX year contract so I suppose he mistakenly thought he had time to sort out the dross Fergie had left him. I ask again, “How many of the players at Old Trafford are worth 20 million”? Few are worth a quarter of that and I think Fergire knew it. Yes, they won the league by a mile but even United fans realised it was mostly down to the fear factor that was Alex Ferguson, teams believed his hype about his players. Once he had gone the fear went with him.
WHS.
I think the facts show that he was not a Manchester United manager from the offing.
So that was the Club’s first mistake - appointing him.
The second mistake was handing him the 6 year deal.
If Moyes is going to be sacked, then surely so should the incompetents who signed off on the above decisions…
It was common knowledge that Sir Alex recommended him for the job and United acted on that recommendation. Now they’re saying that he will have a big say on who replaces Moyes.
Sir Alex signed some great players but he also signed a few poor ones. Moyes would have been a great success next season having spent a few hundred million and got rid of about 50% of the current squad. Instead the new Manager, whoever he is will have to look at the squad and make his own mind up about who to sell and who to keep, by the time he has done that United will have "blown " another season. Thank God Witton have not reacted like that with Mr. Pritchard, he knows what players to keep and I bet he has a good idea who he wants to bring in too. Continuity breeds success in my book.
WHS.
PS As someone who cannot stand United I hope they do what they did after Busby retired and keep changing managers every couple of seasons, it brought them HUGE success as I recall!!

You are all absolutely right of course, the game is full of idiots and bad management but it never ceases to amaze me how all you Man Utd haters are so incredibly interested in Utd and jumping on any anti-Utd band wagon that passes by !
I can not imagine a world in which the first result I look for,the first bit of press I yearn to read , is NOT about my club but another club !
For Christ’s sake follow your own team and make them your priority .On this thread we’ve got Liverpool fans commenting on Utd and not on their own club when they are in spitting distance of their greatest steal since Istanbul;Spurs fans still in with a mathematical chance of a top 4 place ,but you come on here to talk about Utd…clear evidence that they are the biggest club in the world and your envy is soooooooo obvious .
We will be back and behind your obvious relish as you feast on U :goal td’s current misfortunes, your optimistic flights of fancy that “this could take years to fix” ,you all know the biggest and the best will be back very, very soon .
You may say that UTD will be back, and indeed you may be right. However what about the finances…the massive debt foisted upon them by the toxic debt driven Glasers takeover, the £74 million per season in interest upon said debt. No champions league income to help with this…AND no £80 million Ronaldo sale monies to buy back debt bonds and reduce or rather restructure the debt! .argument
