The Cheadle game was enjoyable,both sides making it a good summers evening out.The team did not look out of place against a strong,experienced but fair Cheadle side.
By all accounts it is very encouraging but realism bites hard with one of the lowest playing budgets.I do not want to hear your dad moaning from across the pop side.In fairness to your dad he use to stand with my Uncle Alf and big Marston Joe.My Uncle Alf once scathingly described the mighty Tommy Smith as not being good enough.We will all have to bite our lip as the younger members of the squad earn their stripes.
Chorley are my tip for the title,if Mossley have managed to retain their squad then they will also be up there.Mossley finished last season in great shape.
I actually could not care less on our finishing place.It is a very noble gesture in what we are trying to achieve.
Mario, i remember Alf very well. I added a lot of expressions to my vocabulary through standing next to him!! (I also spent years thinking you could only have 1 eye if you wanted to be a referee!).
