Colne 2-0 Albion
Team- Newton, Kenyon, Bowyer, Hindley, Maddock, Hadzik, Tierney, Swann, Wooley, Mills, D Roberts SUBS- Simmons, Dean, C Roberts, T Ennion
Albion started they travels with an attacking 3-4-3 formation which included 5 teenagers. Albion started on the back foot as Colne settled early on the big slope and it was them who were doing all the running, but albions young side were holing there own with debutant Aaron Kenyon the pick of the players in the opening period of the game, also no nonsense defender Bowyer was having a good game. The game was of few chances but it was Colne who struck first when a cross took a wicked deflection which left keeper Saul Newton stranded on 40mins to leave albion a 1-0 deficit at the break.
Albion shook things up at the break with saw the in-effective Dave Roberts and Sean Mills be replaced by Chris Roberts and Darren Simmons, almost with immediate effect the game changed and albion began to grow in the game and it was the hard work of Chris Roberts and Sean Tierney which led to Swann being through on goal only for the Colne Keeper to be in good form. Witton continued to dominate the second period and it was the guests who carved out another chance involving swann but this time it was Roberts this time to be denied. Young gun Dean was then introduce who also impressed late on. With just minutes to play a long ball forward wasn’t dealt with and a hesitant Bowyer and Newton were punished as the Colne striker nipped in to seal the points on 89mins. FT 2-0
