Shaun Tuck signing

Bloody good signing this a great Witton Welcome to Mr Tuck!!!

It is rare that I log in on this forum in my original user name and I will not be making a habit of it in the future. I am disappointed with the opening thoughts on this topic relating to the signing of Shaun and find the comments completely un witton like. Any issues raised, rightly or wrongly, have been dealt with prior to his arrival at this football club.
All the players sign up to a strict code of conduct at the start of the season which i hope has been reflected in their conduct on and off the pitch last season. Any other issues that will tarnish the good name of Witton Albion are also covered in this code of conduct and have been acted on in the past season and will continue this season.

Welcome to Witton Shaun, here’s to a successful goal plentiful time during your two years.

welcome to the club shaun, 99% of wittoners will be highly chuffed that you have signed an dwish you all the best in your witton career. you will not regret it, of that i am sure. a tuely awesome signing, can’t wait for the season to start.

Well done Brian.

I couldn’t be more excited by this signing.

Losing Titch was a huge blow (he was a cracking lad as well as a great player), but in Tuck i think we have made the best signing any of us could honestly have hoped for.

I am very impressed that we have managed to recruit 2 of the best players from the league below us. Our manager should be applauded for his efforts.

Hopefully the negative comments by Wittoners (on here and also on public forums - very disappointing) will be put to bed now.

It really gets my goat that some people on here find it necessary to have a go at a player for a past indescretion ages ago when a young lad. The our manager has to come on here to set the record straight almost having to defend himself from making what is a great signing. These people that do it always seem to have a glass half empty to me. One of the most difficult jobs this pre season was to replace one of the best strikers in our history. The fact we have gone out and done this in spades speaks volumes for our chairman and manager.
If there were concerns about Shauns past this should have been mentioned descretely to Mark or Brian who are always available for a chat and not aired in public on here!
I for one am 120% behind Shaun so its a big welcome from me and don’t be too offended if you get nicknamed “Friar” or something. When you reach that status it means your a wittoner through and through you’ve only got to look at my nickname to see that, as I moan about nearly everything all the time!!
I shall seek Shaun out tonight at Lostock and tell him personally he has my unfailing support.
As for Pritch you only have to look at our discipinary record last season and the way our club conducts itself to know that we have a management team of integrity, committment, and courage. For Gods sake trust them because believe me Mark, Brian and co can take this club forward to unbelievable heights if you get behind them with Conference North football not beyond us but ALL WITTONERS need to stand up and be counted instead of this daft sniping that goes on!! As I say if you have a concern speak to Mark or Brian about it because they are fantastic guys and will give you a sraight answer if they can.
ONWARD and UPWARD with Britains BEST COMMUNITY CLUB

Agreed very exciting signing. Well done Brian and Mark. Welcome Shaun looking forward to going mental behind the goal when you score. So excited for the season to start!

I’m absolutely chuffed with this signing. I personally don’t care what reception he gets from FCUM and the like, if the lad bangs them in for us he’ll become one of my heroes. All the best Shaun, here’s to plenty of goals.

Well said Brian, I have ALWAYS trusted your judgement when it comes to football related stuff. As I said before, “Welcome Shaun, you will NEVER regret this move.”
WHS.

Well that stirred up the proverbial hornets nest didn’t it!

Some stupid comments and some valid ones.

Top man BP for posting.

I wasn’t “having a go” or partaking in “daft sniping”, just initiating discussion about the new signing. Surely, we’re allowed to do that without falling out aren’t we? Remember it’s a forum.

My glass is never “half empty” - just ready for a top up! Onwards and upwards - UTA!

Eddie. I’m sorry you are right and I think you feel that Shaun is a good signing yourself and I was’nt really geeting at you for sniping its other people on here. The only thing you did wrong was perhaps not mentioning your fears about the FCUM thing with Pritch or Mark direct. I always respect the views of a Conneely as a family that had Witton ingrained on them from an early age by the late great Vin!!
Keep going mate and we can watch “Friar Tuck” smack some goals in together!!
As I say will hopefully be at Lostock tonight to greet Mt Tuck personally and welcome him to our great club. Judging by the postings on Skems forum the guy seems a genuine lad so I’m sure he’ll hit it off with our fans too!!

Welcome Shaun, really looking forward to seeing you in the red and white and hopefully banging some goals in for us along the way. All true wittoners will be 110% behind you as we will all the lads.

A big Witton welcome from me Shaun  It`s great to see a player like you join the club.

Well said Pritch4 - Once again welcome Shaun!

Come on all you cunning linguists lets get the song ‘S.tuck in the middle with you’ adapted!

Gages to the left of me, Andrews to the right

UTA

:cheer:
You could use the original lyrics and apply them to the liners:
“Clowns to the left of me
Jokers to the right”

Wasn’t that by the well known scouse group Steal Us A Wheel?

Just to clear up a few things about the so-called ‘munich celebrations’. The FA thoroughly investigated the accusations against shaun tuck & john lawless. they also checked TV footage & mobile phone videos & interviewed local stewards & police, their was no evidence whatsoever to charge shaun & john, both were scousers playing against a team from manchester so feelings were already running high between both sets of fans, only thing they were guilty of was over-celebrating by the fc united fans, both shaun & john received death threats after the game and also on various social networking sites. i believe some of the albion fans r man utd fans, i hope they make thier own minds up and not listen to the grapevine, shaun has signed for albion & is really lookin forward to pulling on the albion shirt and he has already felt part of the albion family in such a small matter of time.

Good on you toffeetuck B)

shaun is an albion player so if your a fan of the albion then get behind him and you will get the best from him

your sayin reacted the way they did?what did shaun do he was found not guilty so as far as im concerned that means he never done anything the facts there in black and white!

Top quality signing and impressed all at Accrington Stanley during the last few weeks, according to the Non-League paper. This is a real big addition that will have caused the rest of the league to take note.

let’s just get behind theplayerand stop trying to rake over old coals. he is a qulity signing and is now a witton player, so let’s just vheer shaun and witton on. end of story.
